Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Tippett.
Hi Angelica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My interest in skincare began at a very young age. I would see how my sisters suffered from acne and I wanted to help them. I started doing research on the causes of acne, how to prevent it, and read studies on it. The rest, as they say, is history!
Fast forward and I have now been working in Esthetics for over 10 years, and I love it! Now I can regularly work with clients and apply my research with the aim of improving their skin.
I have had the privilege of freelancing for luxury brands such as La Mer and SK-ll. I also enjoyed the opportunity of working full-time at a spa in Highland Park, TX as a Lead Esthetician, and eventually the Spa Director.
I embarked on a new chapter in my career about 4 years ago by branching off to my own salon, AngelicAesthetic!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I chose to build my own clientele when I went off on my own so as you can imagine that was not easy but referrals played a huge role in building my business. Looking back that might have been the more difficult choice but because of this I am even more appreciative and proud of where I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about AngelicAesthetic?
A technique that really sets me apart is that I’ve been trained and have my certification in Sculptural Face Lifting™ (‘SFL’). It is a unique Natural rejuvenation technique created by Yakov Gershkovich. It has been marketed as the “Buccal Facial” and became more known in the States after Meghan Markle received this treatment. I am one of only a handful of estheticians trained in Texas.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I do appreciate that I started off at a large spa, I was so fresh out of school and I didn’t know how little I knew!! I think having other professionals you can go to for advice is important, there is always something you can learn from others. Also, our industry is growing and evolving each year so get used to doing tons of research and studying, there’s always a new trend out there or new modality so being educated is very important.
