Exploring Life & Business with Billy Davis of TruStory 2082 Clothing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Billy Davis.

Billy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, my mother use to tell me, always stay true to yourself and your story. She passed in Oct. 2016 of ALS. So, when she passed, I wanted to come up with a way to remember her. So, I came up with the name TruStory 2082 Clothing. Funny because I use to always write a post on social media and end it with hashtag TruStory. To break it down 2082, is numbers from my birthday. The word Tru came from growing up listening to Master P and No Limit. Story, because my mother use to always say forever stay true to your story. TruStory 2082 Clothing: 4ever Stay Tru

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Like any business starting off was sort of up and down. Honestly, I just had to figure out which lane I was going. At first, I was making crazy ugly stuff of the top of my head lol. Then I reached out to a high school friend of mine, who was killing the scene on the graphics. Cam White which I attended Skyline High School with and I, linked up one day and he really just took off making and creating all of my logos. So, after business started doing good and now, I just opened an online store.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about TruStory 2082 Clothing?
Well, we are created in Dallas, so most of the logos come from the heart and theme of Dallas. I just opened an online store to reach more people and to provide better quality material. I feel like with the online store you have more merchandise to choose from with a variety of colors, and better quality with switching from vinyl to screen printing. This is just the beginning I just dropped a new TruStory Dallas logo the received good feedback, so I feel like as long as I keep grinding and building my brand the work, I put in will predict my outcome. I’m doing this for my mother, family, and city.

Any big plans?
Promoting and coming up with a better marketing scheme to build my brand. I have some fire new designs coming to the website. I really just excited to even have my own online store. I remember long nights of making clothes in the living room, getting burned repeatedly by the heat press. So, I just never forget where I come from and keep progressing.
