Hi Patricia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was a child, I felt a deep passion for cooking, but over time, I discovered that what truly fascinated me was artistic pastry. I started baking cakes and cookies for my family in Venezuela, and when my two daughters were born, I wanted to create more elaborate and intricate designs for their birthdays. This led me to take several cake decorating courses to refine my skills.
When I immigrated to this wonderful country, I decided to turn my passion into a business, and that’s how PL Divine Cakes was born. It wasn’t an easy journey, but with effort, dedication, and continuous learning, I built a strong client base that trusts the quality and love I put into every creation.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Starting a business from scratch in a country with a different culture and language was a big challenge. Moving to a city where no one knew me meant I had to work patiently to build my brand and gain recognition.
Another major challenge was adapting my recipes to the ingredients available in this country, as they were often different from what I used in Venezuela. Through trial and error, I was able to adjust my formulas while maintaining the quality and signature flavors of my products.

PL Divine Cakes is a home cake studio operating by appointment only, located in Fate, TX, and serving the entire Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
We specialize in creating modern and elegant wedding cakes, celebration cakes, and dessert tables. Every cake and filling is freshly made from scratch, using only the finest and highest-quality natural ingredients.
Each cake is meticulously designed and handcrafted to reflect our clients’ vision while incorporating our signature elegant and sophisticated style. We don’t just bake cakes—we create stunning centerpieces that exude class, grace, and distinction. Our goal is to provide you with a unique and delicious experience that will make your event truly unforgettable.
In addition to custom cake design, I am also focused on helping other women turn their passion into a successful business. I am currently working on a digital course, where I will share strategies, techniques, and business insights to help aspiring bakers start and grow their own home-based cake business.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Absolutely! Alongside expanding my brand in the custom cake industry, I am also growing my presence in the digital space. I am currently working on my digital course, which will provide a complete guide to starting a cake business from home. Additionally, I am developing a free digital resource filled with helpful tips and common mistakes to help aspiring bakers refine their skills and avoid setbacks.
In the long run, my dream is to open my own studio space, where I can combine cake production with in-person classes and workshops, fostering an even larger community of female entrepreneurs.
