Today we’d like to introduce you to LaShon Rodgers.
Hi LaShon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always been an organized person, but from the time I became a mother and planned my son’s first birthday party it was no question that this was embedded in me. It was his 7th Birthday and the theme was NBA AllStar Weekend. It was a huge success and everyone complimented on a job well done. I enjoyed every aspect of planning, creating and executing all of the details for his birthday party so much that it made me realize how much I really could do this as more than just a hobby. I absolutely love what I do, and you will see it in my appreciation and love for all of my clients.
The primary objective of my services is vendor management. I act as the event broker for my clients so they can focus on the memories and enjoyment of their special occasion while I work on logistics and every detail to make their vision come to life. Majority of my clients are parents and working individuals so their time is limited. It’s more than just the event for me, because anyone can plan their own event but working with me takes away the stress so the client can sit back and relax. I work hard so my client doesn’t have to.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been easy. There are always bumps in the road with anything you try to accomplish, that’s life.
There are many planners in this industry and there are different levels of opportunity for us, but with platforms like Pinterest, Google and DIY options available, it challenges event planners as myself, because of individuals who are self starters, but realize later in the process that they need more help than they imagined.
Obstacles are sure to come in life and in business but as an Event Planner, I am always ready to pivot, adjust and get through the tough times.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Wedding & Event Planner. I offer planning services for Weddings and Special Events and no event is too big or too small. I like to call myself the “Event Broker” because I focus heavily in the area of vendor management and logistics. I am dedicated to making each event stress free and successful and I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of arranging, planning, and ensuring that clients are 100% satisfied.
I offer services for my clients that can be anywhere from Full to Partial Wedding Planning, Corporate Events, Special Milestones, Birthdays, Anniversaries and even Destination Weddings. My job is to ensure a smooth planning process from start to finish so my client can just show up and enjoy.
In addition to my planning services, I am a Travel Agent and I offer clients honeymoon and other getaway options, making it a one stop shop when planning their special occasion. My brand, Forever In a Day, strives to give each client the personalized services they deserve and need while helping them to Create Memories. I am here to provide quality service and support as they go through the planning stages for the occasion that will signify “Forever In a Day.”
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I believe that being a great listener, having patience, and being quick to resolve issues are some of the characteristics that help me to be successful.
Each client is different and no event will be the same. In this industry, we meet clients with different needs and desires and being able to meet those needs and offer options that will allow me to execute based on those desires is a huge deal and very important to me.
Trends also change and it can be very challenging at times. Having a servant heart, compassion for others and a great understanding of each individual and their needs definitely helps me as I continue to work to perfect my craft and gift.
