Hi Tamiqua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story of entrepreneurship started 4 yrs. ago. While trying to bring extra income into my home, my husband encouraged me to create something that I could call my own instead of finding a 2nd job. After contemplating about what I may be good at, or have a passion for, the light bulb above my head said, ‘well I do love dentistry, I’ve been a licensed Dental Assistant for 12-13yrs now’ and a problem I’d constantly see with my patients is dry lips during your Dental checkup. I thought to create a product that would remedy that problem, but with an all-natural blend. My brand started with 4 lip exfoliators and has blossomed to 10 different luxury exfoliators, 4 ultra-moisturizing lip balms, and also a nighttime renewal lip mask. All products are hand crafted, and coconut oil-based, leaving your lips feeling like silk.
My branding focuses on not only healthy lips but Self-love and care to speak positivity over yourself and your situation and to manifest the Queen within you! I’ve also created a product line for men called KINGS ONLY available at Myqueenkisses.com
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Most of the struggles I’ve faced revolve around funding and obtaining capital to launch new products and to increase brand exposure. My startup costs were very low initially, and I’ve been my own investor since the beginning. But also, I was still a Full-time Assistant when I started Queen Kisses (which means my paycheck was helping with costs) I’ve been a full-time entrepreneur for about 3yrs now and all profits are invested back into operations.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My brand, Queen Kisses is an all-Natural Luxury Lip Care line that also carries the message of Self-love through self-care. I handcraft luxurious lip exfoliators, ultra-moisturizing lip balms, and a nighttime renewal lip mask. my brand is known for Luxurious unique blends that not only come in fun flavors but blends that are effective at keeping your pout perfect.
My brand mantra is to ‘Let Queen Kisses exfoliate away your Insecurities and Replenish your Confidence to QUEEN STATUS!’ While specializing in the actual care of your lips, my brand encourages Self-love through adding a bit of luxury to your self-care time and being mindful to speak positively about yourself and your situations.

I’m most proud of my product blends that I’ve created, they all perform as advertised and better, I’m very passionate about ensuring that my customer is impressed with the way my products have improved their lips (smoothness, appearance) I always want my customers feel like they made a great, NECESSARY purchase.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned so far would be to ask and accept help when my plate gets too full.
