Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Johns
Hi Crystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am Crystal Johns, and I have been a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 26 years, with extensive training in emergency, critical care, vascular, and aesthetic nursing. My experience working in the ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic was both challenging and rewarding. However, despite the rewarding moments, I realized there were other ways to save lives.
With a long-standing passion for aesthetics, health, and wellness, I saw the pandemic as a wake-up call to focus on preventive health. I recognized that addressing health disparities was crucial in protecting the most vulnerable populations from deadly complications of the virus. In the summer of 2021, I launched Pretty Crystal Aesthetics, specializing in regenerative medical aesthetic treatments such as PRF and PDO threads, as well as popular treatments like Botox and dermal fillers. I also incorporated vitamin and peptide treatments to promote wellness, immunity, and a healthy lifestyle.
In 2022, determined to deepen my commitment to decreasing health disparities, I applied for and was accepted into the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, aiming to earn a Master of Science in Nursing degree. I am set to complete the program in May 2025 and plan to pursue additional certification in functional health and wellness. By combining my passion for aesthetics and functional health, I aim to help my clients feel their best inside and out.
In my practice, I am known for my compassion, gentle touch, attention to detail, and obsession with natural, beautiful results. I also seek to share my experience and expertise by mentoring and training other injectors in safe and effective injection techniques.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road. There was much to learn about opening and running a successful business especially a medical aesthetics practice. I spent uncountable hours researching regulations at the state and federal level. My husband Coleman Johns, a business consultant, has been invaluable through his business acumen and unwavering support. This has lovingly earned him the title of Chief Husband Officer (CHO).
We’ve been impressed with Pretty Crystal Aesthetics, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets Pretty Crystal Aesthetics apart is my commitment to natural, beautiful results achieved through a compassionate and gentle approach. I am known for my attention to detail and my obsession with ensuring that each client feels their best inside and out. Additionally, I mentor and train other injectors in safe and effective injection techniques, sharing my expertise to elevate the standards in the industry.
I am most proud of the trust and satisfaction my clients have in my services. At Pretty Crystal Aesthetics, we strive to provide a holistic approach to beauty and wellness, ensuring that our clients not only look great but also feel great. Our offerings are designed to enhance natural beauty while supporting overall health and well-being.
I specialize in the use of PDO threads. PDO threads are made of absorbable suture used to lift, reposition, and tighten the tissues of the face and body. Treatment areas are numbed with lidocaine and the threads are inserted through small access points in the skin with minimal discomfort. The effect is immediate lift with the secondary regenerative effect of collagen production as the threads dissolve over the next 6-9 months.
How do you think about happiness?
The thing that brings me the greatest happiness in my work is handing my clients the mirror after their treatment and seeing their eyes light up with happiness and confidence. That lets me know I’m making a difference in people’s lives. When people feel more confident in how they look and feel it opens doors for them. It increases their comfort in social and professional settings encouraging them to overcome fears and conquer goals.
In my personal life it’s my relationships with my husband, kids, friends, and cats that bring me happiness. When I take time for myself I love long walks, short runs, and traveling (especially the beach).
