Today we’d like to introduce you to Krishna Manda.
Hi Krishna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
With Family Farming roots, we grew in rural India and involved in the Family Farming. Moved to USA thru IT profession and after working in IT so long we thought it’s a good time to chase our dream and passion to pursue Farming. we bought a piece of land in Ravenna, TX and started Vegetable farming in small scale.
As we are Farming over the years, we learned how to operate Farm Equipment and Implements like Tractor, Disk Plow and etc. We also use advanced farming methods like Drip irrigation, Embossed Plastic Mulch to control weeds and save water, and no Harmful Chemicals.
The produce we grow is much more healthy and nature-friendly food. Currently, our produce is sourced to couple of Grocery Stores and Restaurants in Dallas Metroplex.
Finally, in the coming years, we will provide Agri-Tourism, U-Pick Vegetables for Kids and Families to bring empowerment thru Family Farming locally.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We just started in the backyard and planned to migrate to Farmland. Initial we tried with Peaches but due to lack of right equipment, we could not move forward with weed control issues.
After we bought tractor and other implements, started Vegetable Farming with advanced techniques like Mulch Sheet, Drip irrigation, Raised beds, and so on. We made some progress with Vegetable Farming but long way to go.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Started Family Farming with our farming roots and passion to grow Vegetables/Fruits/Nuts with no pesticides and also provide Agri-Tourism. Empowering family farmers is an important way to achieve a better healthy food with no Pesticides and more organic as possible. By Family farming we can increase our productivity, conduct Farm work more safely and live the life in rural communities
