Inspiring Conversations with Lauren Garza of Timeless Event Planning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Garza.

Hi Lauren, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My name is Lauren Garza, born and raised in San Antonio Texas. I’ve been married for 12 years to my amazing husband, and a mother of 2. Some may call me a serial entrepreneur as I have a few business ventures I’m invested in. I am the owner of Timeless Event Planning, LLC, I’m a licensed life insurance agent in various states and a travel agent. I’m very passionate about what I do.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Deciding to leave my full-time job in 2019 and become a full-time entrepreneur was definitely an endeavor. The decision to do so became intense during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I had numerous clients cancel their events, weddings, and proms during that season which really made me take a step back and reevaluate my life at times.

I would question if becoming my own boss was for me. I even took it as far as re-applying for my previous position and was denied! That’s when I had my “ah-ha” moment. I had to think back on all the times I prayed for time freedom, and financial freedom. I didn’t want to be on someone else’s clock.

This was my time! Even though it wasn’t pictured as I visualized it, but it was definitely God’s plan.

As you know, we’re big fans of Timeless Event Planning. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Timeless Event Planning has come to life because of my beautiful daughters, Jaliyah & Jada. I have always planned their birthday parties with a theme of their choice and decorated for the occasion. I’d post photos of their birthday each year on social media so that family members and friends that couldn’t attend had a glimpse into the festivities.
People would always comment that I should look into the event planning industry and decorate for others. I’d brush off the idea with responses like “I’m too busy, or I don’t have the time.” and any other excuse you can think of.

At the time, I was working 40+ hours a week at a Fortune 100 Financial Services company and the job was demanding. I would sometimes ponder over the idea of possibly becoming an event planner on the side. I clearly recall myself posting a picture of a balloon arch and informing my community I was looking for clients to jumpstart my business. I booked my first client who was looking for someone to decorate her daughter’s birthday, and things took off from there.

My business since then has contracted a plethora of events such as birthdays, sweet16s, proms, baby showers, weddings, galas, corporate events, etc.

We’re now an award-winning and published event planning company. We have been voted SA Currents Best Wedding Planner. We’re listed on The Knot & Wedding Wire. We’re recently voted this year for 2022 Couples Choice Award with Wedding Wire.

The party starts with us! We are a wedding & event planning company that offers a diverse selection of services including planning, decor, and design, floral, coordinating, and travel planning. We service the San Antonio and surrounding areas.

We are known for our open approach with our clients. I’m goofy, outgoing, fun, and bubbly and those characteristics are within my events. How I plan with my clients, how I make our consultations fun. I have a strong sense of compassion and understanding, and I do my absolute best to meet my clients’ expectations.

What sets us apart is our creative touch and attention to detail. I treat my clients like family, not just a client. At times, we may go grab lunch and we grow our relationship in business.

I am a travel agent and I’m able to assist my event clients with hotel blocks, or their honeymoon.

I also am a licensed life insurance agent. I can educate my clients on the importance of life insurance and help set their families up to create generational wealth. Offering these services sets me apart from other event planners because I consider myself the “Walmart” of event planning.

I can get you down the aisle and you’ll have the wedding of your dreams. I can get you on the plane and have you at the destination of your choice, and make sure you have proper coverage on your life.

I am proud every time someone requests a consultation with me. That means my company was taken into consideration. Just the fact that I was considered is enough.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First, I give all credit to God for opening my eyes to the possibility. He created me to be a creative. My husband Johnny and our daughters have been so supportive of my business. Without them, this wouldn’t be possible. They are the reason we are even here!
My amazing crew: Keisha, Mona, and Julia have been there through it all. These ladies really keep me in a positive headspace and make sure things are managed. They are always on time to step in! There is no way I could do it all by myself & I’m glad to have a team of ladies I can trust!

My mother, & father, rest his soul have always supported the idea! My family members and friends have prayed and cheered for me along the way, and I thank them all for the support shown. I even have to stop and give credit to my social media followers for always sending recommendations and referrals my way.
