Inspiring Conversations with Tiffany Miller of Intentionall Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Miller.

Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have taken an interestingly diverse path in service to humanity in my life thus far: ranging from barista to business owner, political campaign staff to yoga teacher. I arrived in the world of health and wellness after years of body/mind dissociation. After discovering the power of yoga to integrate body/mind/spirit, I knew that helping facilitate that empowering journey for others was part of my calling. I became a yoga teacher in 2018, and the next step was a deeper understanding of the body/different impact of service through Massage Therapy.

I studied and continue to study fascial stretch therapy with Chris and Ann Frederick, Co-Directors of the Stretch to Win Institute. I am very passionate about the gentle technique that release lots of pain and tension in the body as it has had a huge impact on my own body and spirit.

I offer a high level of education, intuition, curiosity, and respect for the trust you place in me as a client in each session. I have great respect and admiration for the human body, my own body, and yours.

I currently offer Frederick Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), Deep Tissue Massage and Cupping, Gua sha, Swedish/Relaxation, and Lymphatic Massage at Urban Hippie Wellness Collective. I love being able to use whatever tools I have to help people achieve their goals. I am also fortunate to be able to offer collaborative care with chiropractors and another excellent massage therapist who are part of our wellness collective.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Initially, I feel I was holding myself back for a number of different reasons. Things changed as I began to let go of fear and focus on my own self-care in a big way. The year I shot to success was also the year I took the best care of myself in my whole life.

Holding boundaries has been a challenge. When you’re part of a small, tight-knit community, and many clients are friends, it’s important to communicate that you can both be empathic and hold hard boundaries. I have learned and continue to learn how to do this in a way that’s respectful to all involved.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am Tiffany Miller, and I’m the practicing bodyworker and owner of Intentional Wellness. I offer bodywork: fascial stretch, massage, and other techniques in an intentional way that is catered to you as a unique individual.

I am known for my blend of fascial stretching and massage. I am passionate about helping clients achieve increased mobility and energy!

I accept a limited number of new clients in order to be able to provide regular, rhythmic care for those I’m working with. Our bodies need maintenance, and I encourage clients to find their own rhythm, whether it be weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc. I take building relationships with clients very seriously, and I provide time in the first session to have a conversation about your history and goals.

I am most proud of the fact that I practice what I preach. I am consistent with my own care, which creates the capacity for me to be able to care for others with a high level of energy and focus.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
I read a lot of nonfiction about the body and how it holds onto trauma. The body keeps the score by Bessel van der Kolk, The Wisdom of Your Body by Hillary McBride, the Myth of Normal, and When the Body Says No by Gabor Maté.

Apps… Hmm… Instagram has been a great place to share about my life, what I’m learning when I have last-minute openings and just fun things that I’m up to.

Calendar app. My idea of a perfect day off is opening up the calendar app and seeing not a thing on it.

My colleagues at Urban Hippie are great resources when I’m dealing with a tough case or just needing humans to be real with. They are invaluable.
