Hi AL-B, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making music because I genuinely love creating. Over time, I became passionate about audio engineering and helping other artists bring their ideas to life. What started as producing beats and recording music eventually grew into Vibe Lab, a creative space where artists can record, collaborate, and develop their careers.
Along the way, I’ve learned that many talented creatives struggle not because they lack ability, but because they lack access, guidance, and business knowledge. I’ve experienced the ups and downs of entrepreneurship firsthand, building a studio, creating events, serving hundreds of artists, and constantly finding new ways to keep the business growing.
Today, my mission is bigger than running a recording studio. I’m building a creative hub that helps aspiring creatives develop real world skills, understand the business side of music and media, and create sustainable careers doing what they love. I believe creativity can change lives when people have the right support, and that’s the impact I want Vibe Lab to make in my community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been times when I wasn’t sure how I was going to keep the studio going, but I never stopped believing in what I was building. Running a business means wearing a lot of hats. One minute I’m engineering a session, the next I’m fixing equipment, answering emails, promoting events, or figuring out how to pay the bills.
One thing I’ve learned is that talent isn’t enough. I’ve met so many incredible artists who just needed someone to believe in them or point them in the right direction. Seeing that has changed how I look at my business. I don’t just want to record music anymore. I want to help people build something that lasts.
Looking back, I’m actually thankful for the hard times. They forced me to get creative, keep learning, and stay consistent. Every challenge made me a better business owner and gave me another reason to keep showing up for my community.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear a lot of hats. I’m a music producer, audio engineer, songwriter, and entrepreneur, but if you asked me what I really do, I’d say I help people bring their ideas to life. Whether it’s recording a song, producing a beat, mixing a record, or hosting an event, I love creating spaces where people can be creative without feeling judged.
What I’m most proud of is Vibe Lab. It started as a recording studio, but it’s grown into a community. We’ve worked with artists at all stages of their careers, hosted showcases, networking events, producer competitions, and created opportunities for people to connect and grow together.
I think what sets me apart is that I genuinely care about the people who walk through my doors. I’m not just trying to book another session. I want artists to leave with a better record, more confidence, and a stronger understanding of the business. If someone wins because of something we built at Vibe Lab, that’s a win for me too.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency beats talent every time. There are going to be slow seasons, setbacks, and moments where you question everything you’re doing. I’ve had all of those. But if you keep showing up, keep learning, and keep treating people right, opportunities eventually come.
I’ve also learned that success isn’t just about what you accomplish. It’s about how many people you can help along the way. Seeing artists record their first song, build confidence, or reach new milestones is just as rewarding as any personal achievement. That’s what keeps me motivated every day.
