Today we’d like to introduce you to Cam Christian.
Cam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I gained extensive experience in videography through my involvement with a fraternity and a non-profit campus ministry during my time in college. I captured everything from fraternity events to students’ testimonies of faith. After college, I joined the campus ministry staff, where my skills were further refined, and I grew in excellence as a storyteller and a professional in the workplace. In 2019, I shot my first friend’s wedding for free and discovered a passion for the exciting process of wedding videography. A few years later, I teamed up with one of my best friends to form Senders Film Co. We chose the name “Senders” based on the idea that we would use profits to send missionaries and maintain a missional approach in our work, inspired by our faith-based upbringing. We connected deeply with newlyweds and had the privilege of filming many amazing weddings, meeting incredible people in those first couple of years.
However, it became evident that entrepreneurship was not a long-term fit for my partner. My wife and I, who remained excited about the business, decided to buy out my partner in the spring of 2023. Over the last two years, we have invested heavily in our industry relationships and education, striving to refine our craft, better serve our clients, and scale our events and profits. I can confidently say that we deliver an excellent product, guaranteed to be a cherished heirloom for our clients. We understand that we are documenting the unfolding of family history, and every step—from the first email to the final film delivery—is thoughtfully designed to curate excellence and leave a lasting impression.
Because of this commitment to excellence, we have built a strong brand in the Dallas market and aim to continue being recognized as one of the greats among industry professionals in the Dallas wedding industry.
Not only has this become an incredible career and a way to provide for ourselves and our boys, but it is also a deeply meaningful service and product that adds tremendous value to all the clients who come through our pipeline. We love what we do and wouldn’t trade it for the world. We can’t wait to see where the future takes us.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth. There were countless times when we juggled multiple jobs to keep things afloat. I vividly recall nights spent editing every single evening after long days at my day job, only to continue through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This grueling pace lasted for months as my former partner and I worked tirelessly to deliver films within our contracted timelines. That experience was a turning point, cementing promptness as a foundational pillar of our business. Today, our clients can count on timely responses and punctual film deliveries. We’ve learned to plan strategically and make sacrifices upfront to ensure every project is completed on time, setting us up for success.
Every professional challenge has brought a valuable lesson, transforming hardships into opportunities for growth. I’ve had to apologize to clients and planners in the past for moments where we fell short. But those experiences have fueled our commitment to continuous improvement. We’re always learning, always growing, and I’m grateful for the moments that stretch and humble us, pushing us to become better versions of ourselves and deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in capturing extraordinary, elevated events and transforming them into cinematic highlights that beautifully retell a couple’s wedding day. Beyond that, I create a product destined to become a cherished family heirloom, preserving memories for generations.
There’s a distinct difference between a videographer and a wedding videographer. A videographer may arrive, document the event, and produce a solid result. However, a wedding videographer—a true wedding professional—understands the nuances and etiquette of such a significant occasion. They collaborate seamlessly with other vendors to ensure an exceptional experience for the couple and their family, who have invested deeply in the day. They craft not only stunning art but also a memorable experience for everyone involved. This philosophy defines me and my team. We hold etiquette at the core of our work, arriving impeccably dressed as if we were guests, and serving our clients and fellow vendors with the utmost care and professionalism. While our final edits are breathtaking, it’s our thoughtful service throughout the wedding weekend that leaves a lasting impression on those we work with.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always gravitated towards the arts. It was always drawing or painting over football for me. I really excelled in all of my art classes as well as my filmmaking classes later in high school. I loved going to the cinema, and some of my best high school memories were watching blockbusters with friends. Amazing Stories brought to life on a dazzling screen, I knew that I wanted to do something similar someday. I was also a social butterfly, friends with everyone, no enemies. I couldn’t see it at the time, but the wedding industry is the perfect place for a personality like mine.
