Meet Adriana Ramirez of Adriana’s Paper Crafts in Fort Worth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Ramirez.

Adriana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always been the artsy type, exploring the world of Scrapbooking, Web Design, and Graphic Design, but it wasn’t until 2015 when planning for my baby shower that the world of paper crafts and custom party decor was opened up to me. It all started with a simple set of baby shower invitations I had found on Pinterest that inspired me, and the rest is, as they say, history.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I started my business in a tiny room full of dusty shelves, a prehistoric laptop, and an old printer, always cutting everything by hand. So my obstacles were usually dreaming too big for the setting that I was in. But by setting goals for myself, I’ve been able to expand in a way I would never have imagined in the beginning. I’m glad I never let those obstacles stop me from chasing my dream.

Tell us more about the business.
I first created Adriana’s Paper Crafts to help local, low income, single mothers like myself have the picture perfect baby showers and kid’s birthday parties. That stood me apart from the crowd because I wasn’t in the business of just making money. I was helping other moms succeed even when they felt like it wasn’t possible.

In creating all types of party decor, I came to realize that I had the most passion for the paper aspect of it. For instance, customized vinyl gifts are a HUGE market right now, but I couldn’t stand working with vinyl. For some reason, paper crafting was my jam!

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I believe I got lucky with the support system I’ve had through all of this. If there was ever a need for a new piece of equipment that was just out of my budget, or needed some reassurance when I doubted myself, my supporters have always been there to lend a helping hand. And for that, I am the luckiest girl in the world.
