Today we’d like to introduce you to David Abadie.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began studying martial arts at a very young age when a bully broke my arm. After years of working in the Dallas area and employed in a very unstable industry, it was a family decision to start our small business. We have now been in business over 10 years.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As a small business with limited resources, we are sometimes faced with obstacles such as limited resources and lack of manpower to accomplish certain tasks.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the North Dallas Martial Arts story. Tell us more about the business.
We’re a self defense, Tae Kwon Do school. What separates our school from others are our beliefs not teaching the latest fad or club style martial arts which makes us a very traditional style business. What also makes us separate from other martial arts schools, we also specialize in teaching special needs students. We offer programs in several schools and therapy places that specialize in special needs. As with all our students, we train special needs students to stand up and deal with bullies.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
It is not luck that has blessed us, but hard work and sticking to our original business plan.
