Today we’d like to introduce you to Elisa Rodríguez.
Elisa, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my Journey because I always loved to style my friends and shop with them, love fashion, jewelry, makeup and all that has something to do with Image. There was a point in my life after having my third child that I was questioning myself what do I want to do for the rest of my life. I was a stay at home mom for about ten years, and I love being a mom that is my best job, but I also wanted to do something else that fulfill my entrepreneurial side.
I started researching about the Image consulting business, and I realize that you can actually have a business doing what I love to do styling friends and family and shopping for them. I decided to give it a shot with the support of my husband, and I went back to study to pursue and Image consulting certification. I started with a course in New York with the Sterling Style Academy and then finish the rest of my certification but online.
After that, I question myself what will make people to get my services what do I have to offer, and my response was quick that I am not the typical fashion girl with the perfect body and height, I am just a normal Girl wich struggles with weight as many others, but that loves Fashion and Truly Believe that Fashion is for everyone. That beauty is beyond size, and that has made a connection with my clients because I understand the struggles of having flaws that you want to conceal and that we all want to look slimmer and taller.
Its ok to be you I just like to enhance the natural beauty, I love my job, love to see the end result of a closet audit, a makeup class, color and style consultation, and the personal shopping. People transform themselves through the whole process, and I love that they get more confidence in the way they look that it’s not just in the outside but most important inside they feel more confident and powerful.
The jewelry came very natural because a friend of mine that carries a Jewelry brand asked me if I wanted to get some jewelry for my clients, I said Yes and the first necklaces that I brought from Mexico they sold in one day, then I thought it will be a good idea to get more brands, not just one, to have different styles.
I thought a website will be the best way to get to more people outside my current clients and that was a turning point. The first time I received an international online order, it was surprising but also very fulfilling because I knew all the hard work has payed off. We are growing and are prepared to get to the next step of the business.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a smooth road more like an organic growth one thing leads me to the next one, but there are always challenges when you want to grow.
The Greatest challenge is that you have to believe in yourself because there is always that doubt if you can do it. Time has always being a challenge as a wife and a mother of three my priority has always been my family and sometimes it is hard to do everything right. I have learned to let go and ask for help when I need it.
Getting the right people to grow with you and to share your vision and your passion, is also a challenge because life happens, people move, priorities change, but I have been very lucky to always find talented people to work and grow with me. I am very grateful for each person that works and have worked with me along this process.
Please tell us about International Image Consulting and Estilo Jewelry.
International image consulting is a business that provides services like color and style analysis, personal shopping, makeup classes, closet audit, special occasions, and, travel packaging… Estilo is an online shop where I curate Different brands of Jewelry and accessories from Latin America and other parts of the world. Currently, we carry about 20 different brands of jewelry.
I am so proud of how we have grown as a company. Every time I buy, I think of all my beautiful clients, and I love to see them wearing the different designers and collections that we carry In Estilo. We specialize in a jewelry styling service.
Every client for us is special, and we tried to give the best service possible if they send us what they are wearing we suggest different options if they are buying a gift we try to make it as personal as we can. Our clients are our priority, and I tried to incorporate the styling with the jewelry, and I love to see how they wear their pieces with pride.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I have so many good memories from my childhood. I come from a big family, and I think the best memories are when we all spend time together.
My house was always full of people with my mom and dad, my brothers and sisters and friends of everyone it was a happy house, and I loved that.
I lived in Mexico City, Chihuahua, and Cd. Juarez while growing up and each city where I lived has their own great memories and friends that I am still in touch with them.
