Meet JayDee Williams of The Sunday Takeout in The DFW Metroplex

Today we’d like to introduce you to JayDee Williams.

Thanks for sharing your story with us JayDee. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
With the love of art and people, I started just getting coverage of different concerts, plays, and community events around the DFW. I started with I AM ROYALTY RADIO, where Ty Foard gave me the knowledge, gave me wisdom, showed me what hard work was about, passion, being consistent and even when it gets tough not to give up. I will be honest and say, at first my heart was not in it. I’ve always loved music and singing, so to me, I didn’t take this seriously at first. Ty started giving me chances to prove myself. In the beginning, I didn’t live up to it. One day he gave me another chance, and this particular day I was determined to not let him down. Then it was GO TIME after that!! So then, I started doing media coverage and interviews for different artists, actors, community reps and so on. The Sunday TakeOut came from the idea that on Sundays, most people are enjoying a fun sunny day, eating, enjoying music and having a good time! So, I said why not let me be make an outlet where people can enjoy the happenings around the community while they’re enjoying their Sunday. The Sunday TakeOut’s mission is also to give exposure and platform to all forms of art around the world. And with my passion for people and personality to make people smile and feel good, I knew that this was my purpose!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it has not been smooth, but it’s been worth it. There were times where I felt looked over, unappreciated, discouraged, and tired. There were times where my focus was off because I didn’t see my vision going anywhere. Lack of transportation to get places, finances, and just time, in general.

The Sunday Takeout – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Sunday TakeOut is one of the dopest media outlets, that provides media coverage and interviews with a twist, hosting, and live to broadcast throughout the DFW metroplex. The Sunday TakeOut is an atmosphere changer, and known for its personality, humor, and the ability to adapt to any atmosphere! What I’m most proud of is, the fact that I just celebrated one year, and have connected with some of the most amazing people! What sets me apart, is my ability to adapt and my ability to add light in a dark place.

The Sunday TakeOut is a part of the Playground Productions Staff of LockJohnson’s Playground. What started out as just a frequent Sunday night hangout, turned into a major networking connection and a good time. The Sunday TakeOut also provides hosting and media coverage for several others such as, the Listening Session DFW, concerts, and TruFx Studios.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me means, not giving up on your passions or dreams. Even when there are blocks in the road, don’t quit! It also means to me, that something special that God has given me… was given to share with someone else who made need it.
