Meet Jonathan Johnson in DeSoto

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Johnson.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been a fan of books. When I was a child, I loved to write. And that passion for writing stayed with me into adulthood. My passion for writing runs deeper than just words on paper. My biological mother at me at the age of fifteen. I’m a product of rape. I was adopted at the age of two, had kidney failure at the age of fifteen, and had a successful kidney transplant at the age of seventeen.

When I write, I write to help others. I understand what it’s like to be in search of positive words. And we as a culture are in need of more positivity. My journey led me to write and release “A Fighting Chance” which is based on my life on adoption, kidney transplant and education and “Gary’s Prayer “which is a children’s prayer book. My goal is to touch the masses through my words and thoughts.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an independent author has had its challenges. But those challenges are rewarding within themselves. Getting libraries and bookstores to accept my book has been a process. But we’ve been able to make some positive movement.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Jonathan Johnson – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
As an independent author, I’m in the process of forming my own publishing company Trey Clay Publishing, named after my two sons. I specialize in children’s books. I’m most proud of my latest book release “Gary’s Prayer”.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans for the future include public and motivational speaking to help those who have medical issues such as myself with kidney failure. And there are plenty of more children’s books on the way.
