Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Dupiton.
Hi Joshua, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Cinematographer & Video Editor based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and I’ve been shooting professionally for about 5 years now! I graduated from MediaTech Institute of Dallas with a degree in Digital Film & Video Arts. I recently started a production company called Morph Pictures and have been producing cinematic commercial videos as well as short films!
Morph Pictures is a Commercial & Film Production Company, with an emphasis on Epic Cinematic Visuals. My goal with Morph Pictures is to create immersive worlds that look, feel, and sound so real that they morph the line between the Physical world and Fantasy!
Growing up, few things excited me as much as watching the trailer to a new action-packed fantasy movie or sitting in the theatre frantically waiting in anticipation for the first scene to begin. Hearing the dramatic musical score build as my favorite characters were battling on the big screen is where I felt the most at home.
Most kids want nothing more than to feel limitless and in doing so they often chase after what brings them the most bliss. Film has always been my escape from the stresses of reality, but it wasn’t until I began high school that I fully realized this vision. It wasn’t until I was given the task of creating cinematic videos for my video production class that I was able to see firsthand not just how much I loved shooting videos, but how much I enjoyed editing videos to a cinematic instrumental of my choosing that perfectly harmonized with the footage we shot. This was the moment when my escape became my home and my fate became clear. Film was my passion and listening to musical scores was my inspiration.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road, but it’s worth it! Learning how to listen to your own voice and believe in your own capabilities despite your circumstance has been my journey so far. I believe if there’s no enemy within, the enemy outside can’t hurt you. Life happens to all of us but I believe the basis of overcoming anything lies in how we talk to ourselves.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Right now, I’m the proudest of my latest spec commercials for Nike and Puma. “Ease is a Greater Threat”, and “Rewrite the Script”. I’m the cinematographer, video editor, and co-director of these projects. Nothing feels more electrifying to me than getting lost in an experience… My goal with Morph Pictures is to create immersive worlds that look, feel, and sound so real that they morph the line between the Physical world and Fantasy!
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m a huge Spider-Man Fan! I’m pretty sure anyone who knows me wouldn’t be surprised!
