Meet Kristina Richardson of SocialTea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristina Richardson.

Kristina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Starting year 2019, as many of us do, I made some goals I wanted to accomplish. I started a book club that was doing well but, I wanted to throw events to address specific topics I felt people needed help with finding resources and support. I tried coordinating events, in January and February of 2019 but was unsuccessful. I attended a purpose event, hosted by SocialTea, that I saw on eventbrite. At that moment in my life, I was struggling with finding purpose and intent and my book club membership was slowly decreasing. After attending the event, days later, I received a DM on IG from SocialTea asking me to be the Dallas Chapter lead. I had a great time at the event and it was definitely want I wanted to provide. I accepted the invitation and, threw my 1st event March of 2019.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road by far. The obstacles of gathering people in one place, with a new organization that no one was familiar with, I was not ready for. The 2nd meetup, I ever hosted, I had 0% turnout. However through networking, which SocialTea, is all about, persistence and optimism, our events have had a great turnout.

SocialTea – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am the Dallas SocialTea lead. We host events every last Saturday of every month along with our specialTea events that happen sporadically throughout the year. We are in several different cities including Houston, NYC, DMV, and Atlanta. We are extremely proud to provide an environment for networking, learning, socializing, and above all else, growth. We are different from other network groups because, we establish an environment for personal growth as well as business growth.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally, success is pursuing your life’s purpose and helping others along the way. Our mission statement is Win with us. As the old African proverb states, “If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go together. ”
