Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Feimster.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Lacey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was 15 years old when the thought of becoming a stylist crossed my mind. I was a sophomore in high school at the time and like many other kids trying to figure out what I was going to do after I graduated. Knowing that. college was not for me I started looking at other options and found that they offered a cosmetology course at a neighboring high school. This was just the fit for me! The rest is history, I started at 15 years old and at 36, I have a wonderful clientele and am the proud owner of mayfair & hue hair company.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
You know, I got lucky and landed in some great salons around Dallas. I would say the biggest struggle has been going from just being behind the chair to now running my own salon. Those are two full-time roles that I try to do at once so I’m still learning the balance but am grateful for the support of my husband who’s never let me quit.
mayfair & hue hair company – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
mayfair & hue is special because of the people who are in it. I have some of the most amazing stylists. We are truly like family. I’m proud of the fact that I’m creating a family-friendly salon where everyone is welcome. I know the work-life struggle so I try to create a relaxing, clean and professional environment for all of our clients because I know that might be the only couple hours they’ll have to themselves all week.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success in how you impact other’s lives. I love seeing my clients feel good when they leave my chair. That’s the most fulfilling to me.
