Hi Lashanta and Lateasha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Lashanta and Lateasha are the proud CEO’s of LLG Transportation Consultants, LLC. LLG Transportation Consultants is a one-stop shop for all your trucking and transportation needs. The two L’s stand for Lashanta and Lateasha and the “G” stands for our late brother Gregory Jr. who passed away in 2004 due to lymphoma cancer. The “G” also stands for our father Gregory Witherspoon Sr. We wanted to make sure we kept our brother’s name alive and be with us everyday.
We are two country girls raised in the Black Belt Region of Alabama and graduated from high school in the historic city of Selma, AL. Growing up in one of Alabama’s poorest counties, we were determined to experience life and create generational wealth. So we moved to Dallas!
We established LLG Transportation Consultants in January 2019 after noticing our father and other truck drivers needed assistance with running their back office, accounting, and compliance. Eager to assist our family and friends, we begin learning as much as possible about trucking and transportation. We officially launched our business in November of 2020.
Fast forward 7 months later (June 2021) we have over 250 clients and growing!!! LLG Transportation Consultants LLC has assisted over 75 clients start their family Trucking Companies! Our goal is to start 100 Trucking Companies within our first year. LLG Transportation Consultants specialize in Motor Carrier authority and compliance.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a great ride but not a smooth ride. Learning how to transition our entire lives into an entrepreneurship has been a growing process. We have learned to reinvent the wheel and be flexible.

LLG Transportation Consultants, LLC is a family-owned business that originated with two sisters, Lashanta and Lateasha Witherspoon. The “G” in our company name is a way to honor & memorialize our beloved brother Gregory. Growing up in Central Alabama with limited opportunities inspired us to start a business that offered others career opportunities. We grew up in the trucking industry. Our father started driving dump trucks over 30 years ago and for the last 20 years he has been a successful Owner Operator! As expected, as we traveled, he began teaching us the details of the trucking industry. We have experience first-hand the financial benefits/freedom and stability that is associated with being an Owner Operator. Our goal is to help as many as possible experience the same or better!
What should we know? What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for?
We are a service-based company. We help company drivers to owner operators/motor carriers. We do so by forming their businesses, assisting with obtaining their authorities, and providing compliance services.
What are you known for?
We are known as the Compliance Queens, ensuring that Owner Operators businesses are structured properly, applications are accurate to avoid mistakes, fines, and fees, problems are solved, and clients are fully equipped and prepared for audits at any given time.
What sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart is we are literally our own lane. There are tons of freight brokers/dispatchers and fleet holders but not many black women entrepreneurs who specialize in back-office support that truly have as much knowledge and understanding as we do about the trucking industry. Our lane is untapped that most drift away from due to the high level of administrative work involved and level of expertise needed. Growing up around the industry and witnessing our father own and operate his own company over 30 years provided us an advantage. We learned the day-to-day operations and obtained the knowledge and leverage to assist our clients in running a successful trucking company.
What are you most proud brand wise?
We set a goal to start 100 trucking companies within our first year of business. Our 1 year anniversary is November 22, 2021 and we have are currently at 80 trucking companies within the first 7 months. We have no doubts that we will meet and exceed our goal. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional client experiences and providing accurate educational information.
What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc.?
We want the readers to know we not only offer services, but we provide sustainable value to our clients. When people think of LLG Transportation Consultants, you will consider assets, relatable content, and superb customer service. Our services are affordable and undeniably at a competitive rate. Serving others is our top priority. Nothing gives us more joy than assisting our clients as they become Motor Carriers and business owners!
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Covid-19 taught us to be prepared for the unknown and the importance of multiple streams of incomes. Our business was birthed during a pandemic. Many people realized the importance of the trucking industry and no matter what happens to the economy, trucking was going to be around and a reliable income. The pandemic provided us with the down time and resources we needed to not only help our family but also help other families have an additional source of income.
