Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Hightower.
Lindsay, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been creating and performing most of my life. Hightower has been together for about six years. I put out my first album Echo Spring around that time. The album was written then the band followed. We later came out with two EPs. Most recently we released Treading Water. Through all these projects the people surrounding me had a major influence. I have the most incredible musicians in my life. I gain so much inspiration from family, friends and my band.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has not been smooth but there will always be obstacles that arise. It can be a messy business being human. Everyone is going through something. I think that if at all possible, take the struggle as a reason to keep going instead of an excuse to quit.
Please tell us about Hightower.
I created the band Hightower. We write our own music and cover a lot of our favorite artists as well. I think one thing that sets us apart is while we do cover other artists, we try to present it in an original way. Also, the harmonies because most of the band sings. I’m really proud of the band I have. They make me better in every way. I’ve always been taught to surround yourself with people that are smarter and more talented than yourself and I believe that’s what I’ve done,
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Oohhh, a lot! First thing that comes to mind is I would’ve just trusted myself and my instincts much earlier. I would not have spent so much time wasted on apologizing for myself or thinking I wasn’t good enough. Really doesn’t matter if I was or wasn’t it was just time wasted.
