Meet Rachel B-Foy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel B-Foy.

Rachel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After the death of my three-month-old son, and the sudden death of my dad, I understood just how fleeting life could truly be. Overcoming those crippling tragedies was not something that happened overnight. Each day I had to choose joy.  Each day, sometimes each minute, I made the decision to live in triumph. No matter the degrees I obtained-promotions I earned-or accolades I received, there was always a still small voice saying, “there’s got to be more to life than this!” I no longer wanted to survive life, or survive each day…I wanted to thrive in this life! Carpe-diem!

One day, a young lady made the simplest comment to me. That comment completely changed the way I showed up in life; it changed the way I viewed life and completely shifted my mindset. What was the simple comment? “I wish I could smile all the time and be as happy as you. You’re just always smiling.

I began to share my story and let people know, that they too, could overcome the hardest punches life could throw. Showing people they could really LIVE on purpose, WITH A purpose. Helping women to give themselves permission to unearth their greatness and offer this boldly to the world.

Boldness is where the IQUIT movement was born. After having the boldness to do a simple Facebook live entitled “Today, I QUIT… and I’m still smiling”, something inside of me was unlocked. The decision to speak my truth peeled back the layers of untapped potential within and has afforded me an entire business, Elevated Possibilities Coaching & Consulting; iQUIT podcast with Rachel B-Foy; merchandise; Keynote speaker. I have been blessed to have a mentor, who is a great guide through this entrepreneurial world. Because my mentor challenges my thinking, it causes me to think outside the box and rise to an elevated level.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Um…NO! No, the road has not been smooth; it has been rather bumpy. The first bump I encountered was my mindset. Often times, our minds have been conditioned to believe only as far as one can see; or only as far as you have been exposed. So shifting my mindset was growth. Mindset and faith go hand and hand for me.

The next bump in the road was not being certain of how to develop and grow a successful and profitable business. I had a learning curve and needed to figure out how to overcome it. I QUIT trying to teach myself and invested in a Business Coach. Hiring a business coach has yielded a great return on investment.

As a company, I am most proud of knowing we are making a positive impact in the world and changing the course of peoples lives for the better. What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a talker! So much so, that my talking and my mouth would often get me into trouble. I laugh now, because this same mouth, that got me into so much trouble, now makes an impact all over the world. I remember that I always rooted for the ‘underdog’ in a situation.

From a very young age, we were taught that we could be anything we wanted to be if we set our mind to it. I believed it-I could be whatever I wanted to be- if I put my mind to it. A bubbly and outgoing personality, coupled with a servant leaders heart has helped me remain humble and grateful.

Being the oldest of four children and the only girl, I often thought I was mom#2 to my younger brothers. Even more so, I felt as though it was my responsibility to set a good example for my younger siblings. I believe I did that. But if I’m being honest, I have to admit how much I learned from my three younger brothers; they are quite amazing men!
