Meet Simon Adeniji of Compression & Breaths

Today we’d like to introduce you to Simon Adeniji.

Hi Simon, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
As a United States service member who operated in the healthcare field, one of my duties was to provide CPR Training to both healthcare workers and non-healthcare workers who were required to maintain CPR certification for regulatory compliance. As many military members may attest, my “extra duty” was a volun-told assignment which later turned into a passion for education as I began to see the importance of this lifesaving skillset. In 2018, my time on Active-Duty service with the United States Air Force came to an end but one thing that stuck with me was advice I received from a very great mentor; “If it seems like no opportunities exist, create them!” That was exactly what I needed to hear and what started my drive towards entrepreneurship.

Compression & Breaths was passionately formed in 2018 as a means to engage culture, influence change, and prepare individuals and groups to respond to emergency situations like Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Our formation became the “Created Opportunity” as we now provide several opportunities for community members to become certified in CPR and raise awareness of how bystander response to a Sudden Cardiac Arrest can save a life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
From the idea of starting a training company to the purchasing of equipment, and now driving across the DFW metroplex as a Mobile training company, I am blessed and grateful to say the road has been a very smooth one. Of course, there has been some learning opportunities along the way which has definitely made the business stronger, but I wouldn’t call them obstacles per se, more so “enlightening factors.”

We’ve been impressed with Compression & Breaths, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Compression & Breaths is a veteran-owned business that provides education and training in Basic Life Support, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid, and other emergency life-saving skills. Our trainings are hands-on, full of energy, and very interactive.

I believe what sets Compression & Breaths apart is the experience and knowledge that is delivered in every training course, coupled with the passion for continuous education that allows us to remain informed on the latests science in cardiovascular (heart) health. As a Registered Nurse primarily operating in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), I incorporate both military field training and real-life situations where CPR has been utilized to make a difference, into the training experience which has been proven to increase student engagement, motivation, and retention of skills.

Not only does Compression & Breaths provide certification courses, we engage with our community by being a resource and providing life-saving skills training to our communities in the form of Health & Safety Fairs, Community Awareness events, Religious Organization staff training, etc.
