Meet Trailblazer Krystal Collier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal Collier.

Krystal, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started assisting stylists in the Dallas area and then signed with The Campbell Agency as an assistant stylist. I worked at companies like JCPenney’s and Neiman Marcus.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Definitely not! There have been some major challenges along the way, but without those bumps, along the way, I wouldn’t have progressed. For future stylist, I would say just take one step at a time and don’t get discouraged. Everyone has there own path.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Dallas stylist specializing in fashion and lifestyle. I started KCstyles to help present myself to brands. I collaborate with brands for my editorials and photoshoots in the Dallas region.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
Connection is key! Definitely reach out to your fellow stylists for experience and advice. They have the knowledge. Attending events, test shoots, connecting with your assistants, reaching out to brands and branding YOURSELF!
