Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Matthiesen.
The Cookie House of Texas was started in 2017 by Sarah Matthiesen in Dallas, TX.
The name is inspired by Sarah’s grandmother’s long time cake business in Shreveport, LA, The Cake House. She has always loved cooking and decided when she was pregnant with her first child. She would learn how to make and decorate sugar cookies for his or her birthdays and special events.
In February 2017, Kyle and Sarah welcomed Thomas David Matthiesen, and he is now her official taste tester for all cookies.
In January 2019, William Henry joined the Matthiesen family and he is looking forward to becoming The Cookie House’s second official taste tester!
The Cookie House of Texas cookies are all made from scratch in the Matthiesen home.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been relatively smooth, but there is always a learning curve when taking on a new challenge.
I pride myself on making a unique creation for each of my clients. I want to truly add a special element to their events.

The Cookie House of Texas specializes in custom decorated sugar cookies. Each design is unique to each individual customer.
I want to not only provide a delicious treat for my clients’ events but also add a touch of art!

I love cooking blogs, baking or otherwise.
Following other cookiers on Instagram always helps jumpstart ideas! The cookie community is huge, but also very small at the same time. We all love to help each other out!
