Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Hamilton.
Amy, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I am a Texas girl that travels all over but always come home to Texas. I’m largely a self-taught painter; I grew up in a very creative home that focused on music and creativity. My mother is the real artist, and my father restores classic cars. I was always encouraged to develop my creative skills in music and design.
I have been a natural light photographer for years and did mural and painting as a hobby until more and more people would ask for commissioned pieces. The hobby has grown into a daily obsession where I feel the need to capture life in art. The art has begun to grow into various themes. My current collections are a variety of florals, landscape, angels, and my retro girls.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Happiness: My paintings make me happy when I create them. I want people who see my art to feel the same joy. Every piece of work has a personal feeling, and I hope others experience a connection.
I primarily do acrylic painting on various repurposed and forgotten mediums, as well as, traditional canvas.
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Art gives me the freedom to express myself and allows me to share happiness with others. The most joyful experiences are the emotions felt through art.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can see my work on Instagram and Facebook. I sell my art online at AmyFindsEverything.com and on Etsy. I also do several local shows around Texas, including the Texas Antiques Week in Round Top.
