Art & Life with Goat Stampede, Christian Dille, Corey Littlejohn and Adam Metzger

Today we’d like to introduce you to Goat Stampede, Christian “Summercamp” Dille, Corey “Supersnack” Littlejohn, Adam “Mudcat” Metzger.

Goat, Christian “Summercamp”, Corey “Supersnack”, Adam “Mudcat”, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Christian and Adam started playing together in 2011 with only a guitar, a mandolin and a dream. At the time there wasn’t much of a plan other than to get together for good times and drinking beer. As time went on we thought we might be onto something. We added a couple new members and formed a band called Slicker City String Band. Members would come and go and names would change as we tried to find an identity and find other serious people who shared our vision. 6 years, 5 members and 2 name changes later, Goat Stampede finally found what it was looking for. That came in the form of one, Corey Littlejohn, a percussionist and childhood friend of Adams. The band started to really click, book shows, record music and really began to take root locally.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Goat Stampede wanted to take music back to its roots; acoustic instruments, friends gathered together and playing songs that we like and have inspired us throughout our lives. We have influences as far back as old time and traditional bluegrass. From outlaw country to cheesy 90’s pop country. From punk to reggae and indie to pop. Not to mention the original songs our fans have grown to love. We play what we like, the way we like it and enjoy every minute of it.

What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Go to shows, exhibits, installations and reach out on social media. Get out of your comfort zone, talk to people and network. You’d be surprised how much just having a conversation with someone will benefit the both of you.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
