Today we’d like to introduce you to Hudson Bell.
Hudson, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
June 30th, 2016, I enlisted in the United States Army. I was put on a plane and shipped off to Fort Jackson, South Carolina for Army Basic Combat Training. Initially, I had dreams to build my career in the military until I was able to comfortably retire. After a year of active duty service, I met and fell head over heels for the woman of my dreams back home in Dallas, Texas. That hit me hard, and I decided to transfer to the reserves for the remainder of my contract. Now back home invariably, my relationship flourished and became this big, beautiful thing that I somehow knew would be eternal. She is an actor, model, photographer, and influencer. In my younger ages, I had done some acting and modeling, and only ever dabbled with a camera. As our relationship grew and months passed by, she began to introduce me to the world of photography and online influencing. Now we have celebrated a year of our lives together and have created our own photography business (Match Made Photography & Design), model together and are working to grow our online presence. We love, love, love to travel and share our adventures with our followers (This summer we will be in Hawaii, follow our adventure @r.h.bell & @madisonbdavid). It is truly extraordinary to share such a powerful passion with the same woman who will be by my side through this wonderful thing called life.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I have always been the overly creative type and have only recently found what I consider to be my perfect creative outlet, Fine Art Photography. I love the idea of creating the world as YOU see it. As my love and I grow our photography business (Match Made Photography & Design), I am not only studying and learning the lifestyle, studio, location, weddings and events photography we offer, but also the ins and outs of what it takes create a Fine Art photograph. I want to have the capability of taking a photograph and creating something that will cause the world to stop spinning when someone lays their eyes upon it. I want my art to draw both question and awe. I want people to wonder, where in the depths of my mind I was able to conjure what it is they are staring at. I do not presently have a legitimate portfolio for my Fine Art Photography as I am only in the trial and error stages of my journey, but as soon as I am able to find my way, I will be releasing my portfolio online and through social media.
As previously mentioned, my love and I have created our own photography business currently offering lifestyle, studio, location, weddings and events photography. This is a passion we share and have built through the year we have been together. With a combined 7+ years of experience, we were finally able to go from individual freelance to creating what we have now.
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
One of the biggest challenges I find as an artist is making yourself stand out. There is SO much out there that is already established and successful, and you have to find a way to make yourself different. You have to be original and authentic. It is so easy to get caught up doing the same things the person next to you is doing but is that how you’re going to get noticed? No, you go through trial and errors to find what’s going to make you STAND OUT!
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can find our work on www.matchmadephoto.com or on Instagram @matchmadephoto. We have a facebook page as well that you can like and follow @Match Made Photography & Design. We love being able to share our work with everyone and the best way to show your support is giving us another friendly follower! There are plenty of ways to get in contact with us through all of our outlets; we would love to hear feedback and even get a chance to meet up and take some pictures for you!
As for the Fine Art Photography portion of my work, I will have a portfolio available by 2020 through my social media @r.h.bell. I can’t wait to share my journey with you all!
