Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Harrison.
Hi Hannah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I was in high school, I was always color my friend’s and relative’s hair, doing prom hair and makeup, and always wanting to be more creative than what was expected of a typical high school athlete. I decided to take a leap and stop pursuing an athletic scholarship and to attend the AVEDA institute! I started there in 2016 and graduated in late 2017! I was so lucky to have gotten a job at Osgood O’Neil Salon upon graduating from hair school! Since then, I have gained so much experience and skills with the opportunities my salon gave me! Classes with Gerard Scarpaci all the way to new extension methods with different top tier brands! Now I am a full-time stylist of two years at Osgood, offering hair cuts, extensions, Brazilian blowouts, and special occasion hair!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I come from a family of people who work hard for the future they want. So with that being said making a big leap towards cosmetology school was tough and scary. I knew I could go through the motions of a university and get a 9-5 job that I ultimately would end up being unhappy in, but that wasn’t the way I was raised. My parents and brothers always said no matter what i chose to do, to do it with my all and never give up. I feel so lucky and blessed to have the family I do because it truly made the 40 hour school week and 40 hour work weekend a little smoother of a ride! I owe all my success to them!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I take so much pride in the creative outlet of hair. Being able to constantly change and grow in my career has kept me inspired and determined to become an extremely well-rounded stylist. With so many opportunities to dive into new techniques and styles, my clients can always count on me to keep up with new trends. I specialize in live in hair. What is lived in hair? I describe lived in hair as the way you look when you leave the salon should be just as attainable for you as it is for me to create. Easy tousled looks that you can manage well on your own, whether that means a bob or extensions but no matter the case, we can find what works best for you. My favorite type of work is when a client starts an appointment with the statement, “I have never left the salon in love with my hair,” which makes me so excited to really tend to my client’s needs and I believe that creates my most proud work as well.
