Today we’d like to introduce you to Helena Victoria.
Helena, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
When I think about where I’m from, I’m reminded of humble beginnings from my home town; Gary, Indiana. Despite the faced adversities, Gary has provided the foundation of who I am as an artist today. As a child, the discovery of the arts all began with the admiration of performers; such as Shirley Temple, The Spice Girls, and Michelle Pfeiffer’s performance in “Batman Returns.” The powerful appetite to become a performer spilled over into my social life. Friendships were developed with other children artists igniting a movement of Street Theatre performances on Kentucky Street. As time went on, I graduated at Emerson for The Visual and Performing Arts, worked onstage/offstage for many productions in the Chicagoland area, married my first love, and conducted a fashion show for the Gary Community. Eventually, the powerful craving to be an actress evolved. There was this ardent desire within that wanted to change location and seek other opportunities in different professions. So, I relocated to Dallas, Texas in 2015, completed my BA in Theatre Arts, and discovered the ever-present entrepreneur inside.
Once in Dallas, I attended Sway Buckley’s Intensive Creative Entrepreneur Workshop. There, the decision to pursue the fashion industry as a Personal Stylist became perfectly clear. HV Style was born!! After volunteering at Fashion X Dallas as a Dresser/Stylist, opportunities began to take off. I’m excited to say that I style amazing women from all walks of life. Whether you are a stay at home Mom or a singer gearing up for a performance, I am here to bring out the essence of YOU!
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Besides acting, I’m a self-employed Personal Stylist. My job is to tailor clients’ look based on their body type, taste, and preferred overall image. Below is a list and brief description of my services!
Let’s Talk!
Do you want to express yourself through clothing, but are unsure how? Well, let’s talk! First time clients will receive a complementary consultation.
Shopping Buddies
Shopping buddies are known for making any shopping experiences less stressful. Feel free to join me on an adventure in finding the perfect pieces for any occasion. Too busy, no problem! I can go shopping on your behalf. This includes gift shopping, as well.
Model Status
Bright lights and camera flashes. It’s time to get photo shoot ready! Look your best for any Photo shoot session with the right garments. Leave it to me to handle your clothing. And no worries, I will be there the entire session.
Closet Peeper
The name isn’t as creepy as it sounds, I promise. Welcome me into your home as I give you tips on how to enhance your wardrobe. Sometimes having a second pair of eyes can provide a refreshing aspect to clothes you already have and/or need!
What I hope from clients to take away from their sessions is to not only look and feel beautiful, but to have a wonderful experience towards self-improvement.
What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
The advice that I would give other artists is to be gentle with yourself. As artists, we can be extremely sensitive and hard towards the very person that needs love and kindness…YOU. There was a long moment in my life when I suffered from depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. But after accepting self-love and awareness, establishing a good support system, and receiving God’s grace is when everything began to make sense. Trust yourself and the Universe to know that your artistry deserves to be showcased for the world to see. I wished that I’ve learned that lesson earlier, but thankful that I finally did. Another advice that I would like to give is to step out of your comfort zone. When you push yourself into other territories, you will grow as an artist and a person as well.
Do you have any events coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your work?
There are many ways to support an artist’s work. Whether you buy a ticket to see a movie, visit an art gallery, or post about them on social media…it’s all supportive. As for me, I’m working on quite a few projects collaborating with other artists in the DFW area! Be sure to check out my Instagram (helenav_21) for fashionable looks to welcome the Spring season. Currently, I am onset for a short Sci-Fi Indie Film called “Nereus,” in which I play a Geologist. So you can imagine my work schedule. BUSY! Honestly, it’s one of the best feelings ever to pour love into the world through clients and with audience members that watch a production.
