Check Out Alicia Douglas’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Douglas.

Hi Alicia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
We started Paris Marie Productions in the summer of 2017. We are two sisters from the Midwest that just wanted to create things that matter. We grew up being able to dream and now we are able to do. 4 years later and there is still a lot to learn and we are so happy for all the experiences and lessons. We are headed in a great direction.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road because you have to create the right team. It took us a whole year until we found one person we could trust with our art and then that blossomed into having a community that we can now lean on and that believe in our skills as artist.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We specialize in photography and videography. We have even produce theatre shows. We are really proud to be able to tell stories that matter and capture beauty. What sets us apart is that we want to highlight women of color. Our triumphs matter.

We are most known for our photography and now we are working our way into videography and becoming even more solid in that lane.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our family and friends deserve credit. They believed in us from day one.

Our mentor Jerry Walker. Who took us under his wing and saw potential in us and he is someone we can always call on for advice. He is also a photographer here in Dallas.

Our team member, Carlos Camacho. He has been a part of Paris Marie Productions for a long time and we are thankful for his contributions and creativity.

Our sisters that walk with us on this journey Sydney Cornelius and Rachel Herbert. Sydney is a creative director and Rachel is an artist as well.

It really takes a whole team. We understand this is a marathon and it’s wonderful to have people you trust that are along for the ride.
