Check Out Christopher Whitt’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Whitt.

Hi Christopher, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was young, I had always dreamt about having the cleanest and fastest cars in the city. My fascination with cars goes without saying and I used to walk around with pockets full of Hotwheels just to show to my friends and family to the point where my grandma wrote a poem about it. My mother saw something in that and started buying me Revell Model Car Kits. From the SuperBee to the Talledega and Chevelle I built them all. She even supplied cans of spray paint, paint brushes and touch-up paint so that I could iron out every detail.

That passion for cars and attention to detail turn into Whitt Collision Repair, where after lots of hard work and consistency, I was able to buy my first tow truck.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been difficult over the years dealing with life happens situations as well as moving to a new state and reestablishing my business here in Texas, but I have met some really good people as I learn my way around and things are starting to take off again. My kids Jay, Cheyenne, and Elijah have helped me keep my balance and stay motivated during times when I just wanted to give up, and my girlfriend who has supported my ideas.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Whitt Collision Repair specializes in auto body repair but also does engine rebuilding, audio installation, and light mechanical and some electrical work. It’s far from a one-stop shop but can get the job done.

I’m probably known most for Owning several Camaros over the years and them being unique in their own way, particularly my ‘87 Iroc Z, my dad used to pick me up in an electric blue Iroc Z and I thought it was the coolest car in the world so when I got the opportunity to get one, I did and have owned one ever since.

I can’t take the credit for everything but I am proud of my ability to network and connect with others to build professional relationships that have helped me get where I am today. Antino “Jig” Barnes has been a big motivator and I appreciate him for that. I’d also like to thank Jim Hickey of Jim Hickey Motors in Hennessey, OK whom it is always a pleasure doing business with.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Texas car culture has a variety of car enthusiasts. From Hotrods to Donks, Import Tuners, Slabs, Low Riders, and Street Racers, there seems to be a meet somewhere every week all year around and it all goes down peacefully. But this Texas heat isn’t for me, so I’m not usually out til after 7 pm lol
