Check Out Igor Guillen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Igor Guillen.

Hi Igor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born in Spain and I grew up in Europe and the USA. I traveled a lot, often with a camera in hand. 🙂 I have to tell you that I was not born with a camera in my hand, but early in my teenage years I grew an appreciation for beautiful and creative photography. After working 15 years as a professional pilot I decided to change careers and start my own photography studio, specializing in passionate and artful wedding photography. I have been very fortunate to have great clients and success as a wedding photographer in DFW.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Anything worthwhile comes with struggles and challenges, and it’s part of the worthwhile journey. Wedding photography requires your full attention and devotion, from the initial marketing and consultations to the actual wedding day and post-production. Through the years, I have adjusted my workflow and services to fit the clients that I know I can serve the best. It’s important to know that you are the right fit for your client and to know when to walk away.

The wedding industry is very competitive and it’s sometimes tough to reach the right clients with what you have to offer and what sets you apart.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is fueled by my passion and curiosity of people. I believe in the beauty of people regardless of sexual preferences, age, religion, culture or race. I always promote an environment of confidence and body-positive experience. I thrive on capturing a mixture of creative images, contemporary poses, true wedding emotions, as well as a few unexpected humorous moments that tell the wedding story.

How do you think about happiness?
The sun, food, happy people, family, animals and Monty Python. I love simple but meaningful things in life, and nothing is more important than human interaction, love and family.
