Check Out Jamie Haswell’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Haswell.

Jamie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for capturing moments in time! This progressed through the years, and after having my first child, I decided to pursue my passion as a profession. I have taken a few hour-long training classes, but for the most part, I am self-taught. It truly brings me so much joy to be with each client and their family while capturing some of their most treasured moments!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle for me is finding the right balance of time and energy for all the hats I wear on a daily basis! First and foremost, I am a wife and mother. The other large hat I wear is that of a pediatric pharmacist. More specifically, I am an Investigational Pharmacy Specialist, serving pediatric patients at a children’s hospital, and I do this full time as well. Last but not least, what brings us here, is my role as a photographer. Being a photographer means being available for the actual shoot, the drive time, the hours of post-processing, and all that goes into advertising your own brand. As you can imagine, it is hard to juggle these three things without feeling guilty! However, I do my best to juggle these roles. After all, these are the things that bring me so much joy and I am truly passionate about each one.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would say I’m most known for my natural light photography, capturing couples, families, and weddings in an outdoor scene. With that being said, I also love in-home lifestyle shoots with a new baby, and in a pre-covid era, I thoroughly enjoyed a Fresh48 session (in-hospital shoot, with a very fresh newborn). Most people will tell you I’m great with the littles, getting their personalities to shine, even when feeling a bit shy.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a studios child, always loving school work, and always with a disposable camera around! I have been taking photos of people for as long as I can remember! I’ve always been a compassionate person, wanting to please and make others feel good about themselves.
