Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenneth Crowley II.
Hi Kenneth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It is my heavenly duty to serve! Born & Raised in Denver, Colorado I recognized my privilege early. Growing up in a two-parent household allowed me the benefit of quality support and direction. My friends and peers were not always blessed with a strong family presence or a strong father to love them and set solid examples of manhood. For this reason, I’ve always recognized the importance of leadership and mentorship. If we don’t educate and save our youth, who will.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been challenging but overwhelmingly blessed! My fourth year in undergrad I was unable to meet the financial obligation in order to complete my degree. I was forced to pack my bags and leave campus. Heartbroken and displaced I stepped out on faith and moved to Dallas, Texas with my soon-to-be fiancé, then-wife. Began working for Men’s Wearhouse while simultaneously taking classes. This transition pruned the growth in my leadership skills and my ability to adjust in rough waters.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As the Program Director of the boys2MEN Leadership Program at the Crowley Foundation it is my job to effectively raise and matriculate young’s kings in our program to full-on Mentors. With that, I oversee the curriculum for three annual programs and the community of brothers in our brotherhood. I am most proud of the success stories our young kings share- being a part of this family has literally saved their life. From our week-long Leadership Summits to the contracted work with individual schools, the engagement with the next generation of leaders is the difference in life and death for our young kings. I know that our presence in the community will continue to make that difference for our boys!
What’s next?
In ten years, we plan to have a school. That’s right! Our own private school that provides quality education around history, healthy masculinity, and life skills. In this line of work, we come across all walks of life and it is our hearts desire to provide for and sharpen the character of these young kings daily! We know that state laws prohibit certain teachings and often stunt the growth of our young kings. With our structure, we plan to embrace the character of these brothers and support the ambitions of their spirit. We look forward to breaking ground for this institution and collaborating with like minds to bring it to life.
