Today we’d like to introduce you to LaTasha Wright.
Hi LaTasha, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
It all started in 2022. I started doing nonprofit work for the organization Suits for Judah, located in Dallas, Texas. For a couple years, I had been thinking about starting a business and was just waiting on the right opportunity. I met my business partner, and we decided to form a few businesses. Diamond Cut Productions, LLC and Diamond Cut Drip, LLC. The companies are film, production, TV, commercial videos, and apparel. Once the businesses were formed, I decided I wanted to learn more and really get into it, so I applied for my first background acting role. While on set, I was offered a role with lines. I obtained an acting mentor, and I have attended acting classes. Since all of this has started, I have now become an actress, director, an assistant director, and producer for short films, movies, and TV series. I love this journey. I’m on. It’s really tapped into my creative side.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has had rough days and good days. I had auditions for roles that I really wanted and was not cast in it, and that was a rough day, but I’ve been offered roles that I never imagined playing, and that was a great day. This whole experience has helped me grow and expand my mind to a whole new world that I thoroughly enjoy. It’s helped me to become an entrepreneur and business owner.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I am an Actress, Director, Producer, and billing/coding manager in the medical field. I am also the media and marketing Director for Suits for Judah. The nonprofit is a top priority for me. By helping the underserved youth of Dallas in the community, it’s my way of giving back. Acting and directing are both passions for me.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see my industry expanding, especially in Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the next 5 to 10 years. I plan to work in this industry for a long, long time.
