Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Garcia.
Hi Steve, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my music journey in my bedroom when I was 13. I downloaded some production software and toyed around with it.
I felt some type of way and I soon found myself spending HOURS on YouTube, attempting to soak up as much knowledge as I could about creating music.
Over the years, I kept honing in on my craft and started taking it more seriously around my early 20s.
I have been releasing music over the years and formed relationships with so many people that have helped elevate me to where I am now.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, never! haha
Whether it’s self-doubt or other external obstacles or simply life just getting in the way.
There has always been some sort of obstacle in the way but as someone that realizes, that’s just the way it if. I stayed persistent and have tried my best to keep my head above water and just continue pushing forward! It’s all we can do!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a master of none but wear many hats. From Promoting, Writing, Producing, and Recording all of my own music.
My most recent accomplishments:
I have had music played on Pitbull’s Globalization XM Radio channel
I played one of the biggest food and music festivals to hit Dallas called the Carne Asada Fest. There I was allowed the opportunity to open up for Paul Wall, Slim Thug, and Nina Sky. Which I grew up listening to and have all been inspirations at one point or another.
I think what sets me apart is that I don’t see or hear many artists in the Dallas area that do both English and Spanish music. I think it’s a dope talent cause I cater to a broader audience due to this.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Well, to be successful, I think risk-taking is essential.
Taking risks has put me in spots that I would not be able to be in if I stayed in my comfort zone.
Making Spanish music, at first, made me super uncomfortable. I feared I would not have an audience or that I would say something incorrectly. However, it’s given me amazing placements and has allowed me to play bigger shows.
Running a studio and having other artists trust me with their vision made me very uncomfortable but it helped me establish myself and meet new friends and clients through engineering.
So yes, I think risks are absolutely required to be successful in this business and I’m still learning so only more to be taken down the road!
