Hi Nina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Name is Nina Fernandez, I am a 38-year-old Single Mother of 6 first and foremost. I’m an Entrepreneur Tax Professional Born and Raised in Dallas, Texas. When I tell you Taxes is my Niche ” I mean it. Back in 2004, I was introduced to taxes by a friend, working at a small customer service job, finding a job period was hard due to my troubled past and poor choices I had made and do regret. This friend told me” Have you ever done Taxes before ‘? I replied ” No”. He said Let me teach you and show you something that will change your life forever. So, I replied, ” Show me”. Since that day my life was changed forever. I couldn’t even get a job at family dollar. Moving forward that tax season was my very 1st season and I made 11,000 in one season. As the seasons went by, my clientele would build up every year! The numbers also went up as the clientele went up! I’ve always worked for other people at their Tax offices and stayed with them for many years, then one day I decided I was ready to go on my own. So, I did. I found my first office, A brick and mortar, fixed it up out up my signs and I was knees deep! There was no turning back! My 1st year I had lots of clienteles of course! And was able to obtain 15 Employees!!! When Tax season slowed down, I had all my ducks in a row, I said okay We are here now, making money, doing great! Let’s begin to change lives, let’s show and introduce Financial Literacy to all of our people In Dallas Texas! Let me show my people what they don’t know and how they can change their lives! It doesn’t matter if you don’t have high school diploma or GED, YOU CAN STILL WIN!!! HOLD MY HAND AND LET ME HELP YOU CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER, THE SAME WAY I WAS HELPED I WANT TO GIVE BACK! Right after the plan was set in place, Students began rolling in!!! I trained, Certified, and educated my people, which was the best feeling in the World! Here at Fernandez Tax & Multi-Services, We don’t just file your taxes, we educate, initiate, and make sure you know exactly what’s going on with your Taxes, we love and care about you. One day I plan on passing my baton to my children one day, And your children as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
*sighs* Where do I begin”… I opened my business with a leap of faith, When I opened my business there were many odds against me, I opened during COVID, and the entire pandemic in itself are Odds all the way across the board. I saved all of my CTC/Stimulus and Tax checks, and every single time I received one, it went straight to my business. I would look at my kids with a knot in my throat, feeling very apologetic, knowing I couldn’t spend a lot of the money on their clothes and shoes, but building a future and paving the way is more important to me for them. I don’t want my kids suffering and stressing over a penny-paying job. Especially in the days that we are living in. If you ask me, odds will always be against you, but that’s why they are Odds because they can be beaten. When this pandemic happened, it was either sink or swim. I chose to swim and make it happen! Spend your money on clothes and shoes, or open a business and make Real Boss Moves. I’m a Boss, So I made a Boss move.
