Today we’d like to introduce you to Betsy Reyes.
Betsy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
BLR booths started with two creative sisters wanting to start their own business. BLR stands for Betsy, Lizbeth and our last name Reyes. This was the being of stamping our name on something we felt so proud of. The beginning was truly my love for photography and fun events. My sister Lizbeth had recently graduated from UIW with a bachelors in Interior Design, we had so many ideas and the photo booth arena seemed like a natural fit. Today, we are still growing and loving every step of the way.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wish I could say it’s been easy, that’s just not that case. Knowing absolutely nothing about starting a business can be very scary and intimidating, but the need and want to start something for ourselves was way stronger. The biggest struggle was learning through mistakes, as much research as you do or knowledge as you have you will make mistakes and that’s ok because you will learn and make your business stronger. If you are just starting out or thinking about starting but hesitant for whatever reason, my only advice is to just do it, just start, wherever you start. But once you start never give up, keep pushing, keep going small efforts will begin to accumulate and pay off.
What should we know about BLR BOOTHS? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
BlR BOOTHS provides a photo booth service. We cater to the DFW/Austin/Houston area. We specialize in creating memories for a lifetime! Pictures last sometimes even more than that. Whatever you are celebrating, we are there to capture that memory with you, from weddings to engagement parties, to birthdays, events and everything in between. The thing that makes me the proudest is having happy clients. Going above and beyond their expectations, giving them that wow and providing added fun to their event.
Do you have any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general? What has worked well for you?
Instagram has been my biggest networking tool, don’t be afraid to reach out to people.
