Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Robinson.
Megan, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Getting to where I am today was and is full of low moments, joyful moments and a lot of in between. Thankfully, God and my family never gave up on me. Growing up, I was kind of introverted and I kept to myself, for the most part, I didn’t really show my outgoing side until I was comfortable with you. That’s why it was a bit of a shock when I told my family I wanted to get into acting. I was shocked myself, haha. Acting has definitely opened me up to a whole new world. You get to meet a ton of people, learn new skills and also learn new things about yourself. Getting to where I want to be is still a journey and I’m enjoying taking in the scenery.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely wasn’t a bump-free ride but I wouldn’t want it if it was. The struggles helped strengthen my endurance. And I had the Lord by my side holding me up when I stumbled or fell and my family too.
There will be no’s and people who want to stand in your way. So, my advice to young women, specifically for the ones who are believers; Don’t do things out of your own will. Let God guide your steps. That is not to say it will be easy but it won’t be as hard.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
If you ask people that know me – “what is she like?”, they will probably tell you how encouraging I am. I love to show people that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed or that they can get through the obstacles they face.
I’m also very hard working. When I set my mind on something, I give it my full effort. Those are a couple things I’m proud of.
At the moment I’m working on writing more screenplays. I started writing at 15 and it slowly dwindled down over time, with acting and life happening. I recently picked it back up and I’m very proud of the content I’m producing. It’s great to have writing back in my life.
Most importantly I’m Focusing on where God wants me to be and what he wants me to do.
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
I absolutely believe that my childhood set me up for where I am now. Firstly, being taught about Christ and seeking to know Him sets everyone up for success.
I and my siblings are very close… a little too close, haha. We love being around each other and just joking around, being ourselves. That is why I love entertaining and creating. I love making them laugh and creating with them. We are all so creative, we were allowed to be. It has allowed us to do so many things. It has bonded us.
