Today we’d like to introduce you to Vaishali Verma.
Vaishali, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Playing dress up started pretty early in my life. Thanks to my Mum, she loved to buy me nice footwears and dresses. So, it came naturally for me to look out for what is trending and how to dress in your unique way. While I started working as a full-time Software Engineer, I got many compliments and comments on my dressing sense in office. The expectation from Engineers on basis of dressing and styling is less. So, it was always fun to discuss with my colleagues and friends, how to dress comfortable, stylish, chic with less effort. It is during one of these discussions that Vivacious Wish was born. Vivacious Wish Blog shares fashion, style and travel stories from me. Blog to share my way of styling with less effort and under budget. Vivacious Wish is one and a half year old now. I have shared many fashion posts including office wear & travel looks. I do not like to pretend or be someone else. Uniqueness is what defines me. And my blog reflects same.
It feels great when my followers ask me some questions related to styling or starting a blog. I love to connect with them, talk more and help the most. Till date, I have worked with many brands like Neutrogena, Zaful, Sudio, Dresslily and many more. Each collaboration makes me learn more about the changing trends. Sharing the reviews with the followers and receiving back the love from them is what keeps me going.
It is little tight to do a full-time job and parallel to that work on the blog. But I do it because I love it. I will keep coming with fashion, style and travel stories till my passion is alive. And I am not going anywhere as this is just the start. 🙂
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No journey is smooth. If you aim for something, you have to go through ups and downs. I remember when I was starting the blog, I knew nothing about domains, website creations and how to promote. I did my homework for 2 months straight and then came up with Vivacious Wish. My husband supported me a lot. When you are a Fashion Blogger, the style matters but what matter more is the style being delivered to the followers in a way that they would love to come back. The photo capturing and editing was the next big struggle. It took a while to share some good pictures on my Blog. Once my blog was up and I got my hands on editing the pics, the last big struggle was to get visibility among a pool of bloggers. This struggle is ongoing. I have learned with time some will notice and some will ignore, What I can do best as a Blogger is share more content with my followers and introduce them to new trends. If even a few love it, I feel content.
As my blog is purely my passion and not my main source of income, so the stress based on monetary terms is not in the picture. Though someday in future I would want to consider it as full time but looking at all the challenges and struggles for that to start, I have planned to give it more time.
If you are starting as Fashion Blogger, I would say that do not copy anyone. Just be yourself. Do not be part of a competition or get stressed out. Blogging is a fun thing and it can not be done under pressure.
What should we know about your business? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Vivacious Wish is a Fashion, Style, Travel Blog and I am the face behind it. I love to talk about new trends in the market. I prefer under budget looks rather than splurge. Styles that are comfortable and chic is what I call My Way of Style. My style is majorly based on some dress or skirt paired with accessories, I love creating simple looks based on less makeup which saves time. Just a bold lipstick and nice liner and one is ready.
As I am a full-time Engineer, I also share some Work Wears on my blog. I have worked with many brands like Neutrogena, Zaful, Dresslily and many more. My main aim is to try and review products for my followers. I prefer to give fair reviews and share the products that are worth the value.
Me and my husband love to travel hence the stories about travels are also part of my blog. I never shared a lot of tips and tricks on travel as I wanted to share more Fashion content but recently I did some poll and result is soon more Travel content will be on the blog.
I am so happy that I followed my passion and started Vivacious Wish. I should have started it when I was in college but better late than never. I am proud of it that I maintain this blog, work on my job and still get time for gym and social life. It took effort but with some help and motivation, everyone can do it.
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
To start with I would like to highlight that the foundations are done when you are young and my Mum played a big role there. She inspired me when I had no idea of what fashion meant, pretty footwears, colorful dresses, matching hair clips and bands.
Growing up, I did not particularly follow anyone. I went with what was trending. With the introduction of Instagram and Pinterest, I was introduced to the world of fashion blogs. That is where I got my inspiration for curated looks. I love following some blogs and my main inspirations are: Something Navy, Hello Fashion Blog, Studs & Sapphires. There are many more whom I look up to and get the idea of living and working a blogger life. Most of the ones I follow are wives, moms, full time working and still managing everything beautifully. That inspires me to go beyond what my reach is and what I can do.
