Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Coleman.
Hi Briana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Honestly, I became a photographer by accident. I purchased my first camera as a Christmas gift to myself in December 2018. I began going to different parks and taking pictures of nature. I found this calming and peaceful. In 2019 I met a young lady by the name of Candi Bleu, she invited me to her event she was having that involved other small businesses. After the event, a few of us were talking and Candi asked me “what is it that you do” I responded by saying I recently purchased a camera and I enjoy taking nature pictures. From there, her response was “oh okay great bring your camera to my next event you are my new photographer.” I shot my first show for Candi in February 2020 and the rest has been history.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a pretty smooth road. Setting a foundation for my business may have been the hardest obstacle I had to face thus far.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I currently work as a Childcare Coordinator at a human trafficking and domestic violence shelter. With this particular program, I helped structure it from nothing to what it is today.
I am also part owner of LipSerVce which is a vegan cosmetic brand that specializes in long-lasting vegan lacquers and mattes. We also have an amazing skincare line that is great for men, women, and children. Let’s not forget our amazing faith-based apparel fit for the entire family!!!
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is being able to have a positive impact on someone else. Whether I am doing photography, in my store, or at my place of employment if someone sees God through me and just for that moment feels a sense of peace and relief then it was a success.
