Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney & Stacey Moeslein.
Hi Courtney & Stacey, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in New Orleans, food, family, and traditions all go hand in hand. Sitting around the dinner table among generations of Aunts, Uncles, Parents, and Grandparents, many delicious meals were shared.
Eating healthy has always been important to us, so we decided to take those delicious meals we grew up with and put our own healthy twist on our family recipes.
After a recurring theme of, “wow that smells so good,” “that looks delicious,” and “I would love to have that recipe,” we decided to share what we had a passion for – healthy and delicious food. Over quarantine, we dedicated time to learning the ins and outs of food photography and blogging. We were able to launch The Southern Spoonful, which has been a wonderful mother-daughter site we’ve enjoyed running.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Launching The Southern Spoonful has not always been a smooth road. Between learning the current photography trends and incorporating them into successful photos for social media platforms and learning more about food blogging best practices, it has been a work in progress. Luckily, we can put our skill sets together to bring the blog to life. Stacey is now building a new home in Dallas, which will serve as The Southern Spoonful’s kitchen headquarters.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Stacey: I’m in Accounting and H.R. for my parish church. It is something new every day and I truly love my job. It is very rewarding, and I work with a great group of people. I am most proud of this blog Courtney and I put together – stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new. We are the perfect blend complementing each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
Courtney: My background is in Digital Marketing. I manage the Digital Marketing team at a healthcare company with lots of moving parts. I’ve always had a passion for the creative side of marketing, and love that our food blog allows me the opportunity to continue to express my creative side and have a space on the Internet to share.
What makes you happy?
Stacey: Spending time with my family is what makes me most happy. It doesn’t matter where we are or what we are doing but being together is what makes me most happy.
Courtney: I love spending time with my family and friends, working on our food blog, traveling, trying new restaurants in Dallas, and taking my new rescue dog, Diesel, to fun dog-friendly places around town. I also enjoy serving on the Young Professionals Board of Dallas CASA and staying active!
