Today we’d like to introduce you to Kolton Pierce.
Hi Kolton, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started making music for fun until people that weren’t my friends actually started to take notice and told me to keep pushing. From there I went to the oilfield to get enough money to save up for my own personal studio. After being featured on a national reality show on LifetimeTV and Hulu I knew it was time to perfect my image, my sound, and who I am as an artist.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a non-stop struggle but every artist, videographer, etc. knows that there is nothing that can stop a creative. We will come out on top because we have no other option. I have had obstacles like losing people close to my creative process, the fact that a national tv spotlight actually become a burden to my music career, and struggling to keep enough funds to continue pursuing the artistic potential I know I can obtain.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a rapper from Dallas, Texas. I use to be hesitant to say that but over the past year, I am completely confident and comfortable with that title. I feel I have finally earned it. I am most proud of my catalog that I have built up to at this point. I use to think after ten songs or so, I would be done. To date, I have twenty-three songs out and still have even more to release. I think what sets me apart from others is that there really isn’t a true comparison of what I am doing right now. I think that’s a big reason why it’s hard for me to find an audience but the people who listen to me are usually instant fans. They end up listening to all my stuff and continue following up with me because I am extremely interactive as well.
What makes you happy?
My family and support of my friends. It is a long, lonely, and dark road being a creative. You doubt yourself and your abilities at every corner but my family and friends continue to push me everyday. Whether they realize it or not, they help me tremendously. I am most happy when creating music, releasing it, and just watching people consume it.
