Conversations with Tatiania Jessie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiania Jessie.

Hi Tatiania, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was very excited to go on my 30th birthday trip to Miami, Florida, and my most favorite thing to do when going anywhere is to pick out my outfits. I eagerly logged onto the most popular online boutique around and purchased my cute outfits. I was ready to see myself in those skin-tight dresses and crop top biker short sets. Knowing I spent my clothing budget, I patiently waited for my outfits. When I got the package, I looked liked a kid getting ready for the first day of school the way I had all the clothes laid out on the bed to try on. Babbbyyy, couldn’t wear none of it!!! This was too small, this was see-through, this didn’t look right on my curvy body. All my enthusiasm was gone and I sat on my bed and cried. I felt fat, ugly, and like something was wrong with my body. I soon realize I was judging how clothes would look on me based off of women who is not shaped like me. That day, I made a vow to not put myself through that again. But what about all the other women who may experience the exact same thing? That was the creation of Belle Allure Designs. But I didn’t immediately act on it. I was kind of questioning it, asking myself if I could do this? So, to be honest, I did nothing. Then, I had a dream and it’s hard to explain those spiritual moments. It’s like when you know, you know. And I knew this was a God dream. All I saw was black packages all over the floor, my mother helping loading up the orders to take to the post office, and reading letters of women telling me how much I’ve helped them or encouraged them. There was a sense of calmness and joy in all this. When I awoke from that dream, I knew with all my heart it was time to start a clothing boutique. At the time, my boyfriend and I was talking about getting married in New Orleans. He is originally from there, so I began doing research about the culture in preparation of having a wedding there. Somehow, I began to look at French words and their meanings. That’s where the word Belle came from, which means Queen. I really liked it and thought it was super unique but what would go with the word Belle? I thought about the energy I wanted to bring to women life and make a positive impact how they feel about themselves through their outfits. That’s when I thought of alluring. Alluring means energy. So now that I had the name, I began thinking about an opening day that had meaning. November is 11 meaning balance and 3 is completion. So, on November 3, 2020, I took pride in opening an online boutique that provided trendy, quality clothing for curvy women. Clothes that I knew when women received it, it won’t be see-through and they will feel just as excited when they put the clothes on as they did when they ordered it. I chose to select only sets, dresses, and jumpsuits because I knew these were easy outfit options that women could wear if they want to get dressy or lounge in. I’ve hit the ground running and haven’t looked back since.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all! Lol I thought, well God gave me the vision and indeed he did. So, it’s going to come very easy right? Wrong! God gave you the vision but you have to put in the work and it’s a lot of work to build a successful company. Long nights of creating content, studying the industry, marketing, web design, positions that big companies hire multiple people to do, you are doing it all! I would have to say my biggest struggle is buying merchandise, from my own money, and not selling a thing at the beginning. It’s really going to be tested how bad you believe in your dream.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work for a well-known bank that I will not mention to not violate any privacy protocols, where I fund auto loans. It’s set up like a call center job so there’s a lot of incoming/outgoing calls, pulling up accounts and trying to assist customers with their loans or requesting documents needed for their loan. I really enjoy helping people but the thing that sets me apart is my relatability. Like I’m always speaking from my experiences and I think people can either truly connect with that or not feel it at all. Either way, I’m fine lol as long as I’m staying true to myself.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how big Dallas is! There’s so many opportunities and even more people to meet. To me, Dallas is perfect for networking and relationship building. There’s always something to do, something to see, someone coming to town so the city is always buzzing. This is good for ground marketing and handing out flyers. The thing I like the least about the city is while it’s good for networking, people from the city that has made it to another level of success rarely takes someone from the city with them. I’ll never understand that.
