Hello Up2Something Media, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with four like-minded individuals being added to a group chat. As with any group of male friends, we decided to start a podcast after a couple of conversations. We decided to publish our ideas to the world. As a group of friends with similar interests in music, movies, and food, we created a platform to discuss our ideas. After talking to some of our first guests, we kept running into a similar issue. There needed to be a support system for the creative scene in Dallas. As four individuals with love for the city, we wanted to be able to represent the city the best we could.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Consistency is a challenge for any creative, which we had issues with in the past, but we’ve been able to get better and record content steadily. It is easy for us as a collective to get overlooked at a time when it seems like there is an over-saturation of podcasts. We knew we had to switch some things up, and that’s when we started expanding our skillset to hosting events in the city and making some entertaining video content.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
To stay persistent in your initial vision and mission statement. Not all the ideas will work, but you must keep moving forward. It’s okay to make mistakes, but learning from them is more important. We have been fortunate enough to work with some incredible artists, events, and companies and have learned lessons from our experiences around the city! Dallas is a beautiful growing city filled with so much talent and knowledge. We hope our mission of representing Dallas as a cultural hub is successful. We want the city to win just as much as everyone else.
