Daily Inspiration: Meet La’Darrian Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to La’Darrian Moore.

Hi La’Darrian, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m originally from Shreveport, Louisiana. I literally dreamed of owning my brand and standing on my own, I dropped out of college in 2018 to really pursue my own dreams even if it took me a while. I was a little unhappy back home and wanted to move; in June 2019 my opportunity came, and I arrived to Dallas needing a fresh new start. I needed to start over with everything, my business plan, and goals. I’ve done just that in almost 4 years. Rebelle Creative became Rebelle Gold Cosmetics, site was official and live in June 2021. I’ve been full speed ahead ever since, worked different jobs full time to support myself and my business but it’s time to really focus on my baby. (Rebelle Gold)

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The thing about a new city is I didn’t know anyone here except my grandmother, my older sister, and of course my aunt on my dad’s side. It was difficult networking because I was so wary of meeting people and a bit timid. I had no car because I was in debt; I took the train and the bus. I was living with my aunt and still battling my mental health; depression was one of the biggest obstacles in my life besides financial struggles. All of my friends were out of state and far away; I eventually gotten my own place, and living in solitude like that you have no choice but to plan and write out your goals. I didn’t have a big business loan or business credit established or even personal credit. I started paying out of my own pocket and currently still doing so. Besides financial there was also my confidence as far as my looks, my weight, the lack of following or huge following on social media/presence; I have been the biggest self-critic and self-sabotage person there is until one day you get so tired you say HEY THIS CANT CONTINUE ANYMORE. My faith helped a lot with that and me choosing to step out in faith, what do I have to lose? Just do it. So, I did.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’d like to think of my business as both a BUSINESS but mainly a craft or art. My mom is one of my inspirations because of how beautiful she is inside but also out. The confidence and radiance she have always had walking into a room, a store, into her job, ANYWHERE. Growing up I wanted to exude that same exact confidence. My self-esteem had to match it which in time it really did. With practice and really dressing up, really putting effort into self-care. Makeup is my passion I started wanting and wishing, praying to become a PRO makeup artist whether in films or on sets. I hadn’t put myself out there but also my hometown I didn’t see myself really growing there and eventually I just wanted to make other women like myself feel pretty especially black women. We face so much criticism in the daily, we criticize one another, spewing hate to each other has become a trend so in my mind when creating rebelle gold it was me coming to make a statement and I’ll continue to make it. We deserve to feel beautiful; we deserve to be seen no matter how we dress, who we love, what we like. That’s what I feel sets me apart the most.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success for me is making an impact, truly inspiring people to put their best foot forward or be their best self. It’s more than just you meeting a goal involving money or salary. It’s personal and spiritual too.
