Daily Inspiration: Meet Shelby Sanders

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Sanders.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
A little over a year ago I moved from my small hometown Mexia, to Fort Worth, TX. I’ve always had an interest in photography, but never really considered the possibility of it turning into a career. I had purchased a camera shortly after moving looking to capture interesting parts of the new city I was in. Little did I know, there were so many career paths for freelance photographers. After doing some research and experimenting, I found a career path that I genuinely enjoy; Real Estate Photography. I started my business only two months ago, and I wish I had done it sooner! I have loved getting to photograph beautiful homes and connect with amazing realtors. Overall, I feel very fortunate that I was able to turn my hobby into a professional career.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a fairly smooth road. I’m currently working a full-time job as a Dental Assistant, so I am not able to put as much time into my business as I would like. My goal right now is to scale my business so that I will be able to do Real Estate Photography full time.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Real Estate Photographer here in the DFW area, and I specialize in capturing high-end photos to help realtors make their listings stand out. I am known for great customer service and fast photo delivery turnaround. I am most proud of being able to turn a passion of mine into a career. What sets me apart from others is that I strive to create and maintain meaningful relationships with my clients.

How do you define success?
I view success as a journey, not a destination. Being in such an early stage in my career, every milestone keeps me motivated to continue moving forward and reaching new heights.
