Today we’d like to introduce you to Andréa Pace.
Hi Andréa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Andréa Pace. I’m NCIDQ certified and a Registered Interior Designer here in Texas. I attended Kansas State University where I majored in Interior Design with a Business Minor. After graduating I began my career working in healthcare design as a contractor for the federal government in Fort Riley, Kansas. Shortly after beginning my career, I decided to go back to school to pursue my MBA from Capella University focused on Project Management – which has come into play more often than you’d think when managing projects of all scales—from government and corporate interiors right down to residential ones. I’ve spent the majority of my career working as an Interior Designer for the federal government working in multiple agencies including the Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
My passion for design developed at a very young age. As an army brat, I’ve been redefining the meaning of home since early childhood growing up overseas, traveling, and creating a home in every location. I was born in Japan; I spent most of my childhood in Germany and the latter part of my teens in South Korea. So, I’m well-traveled, to say the least.
In Summer 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, I started Pace By Design. It began as an idea to simply make design accessible to everyone, but it has kind of grown into more so helping people visualize the potential in their spaces.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think every journey comes with its trials and tribulations. I think one of my biggest struggles on this journey of entrepreneurship has been my social anxiety. I feel like sometimes it holds me back from really speaking up and going after what I want. I’ve always been very confident in my gifts and I’ve kind of just always let my talents and skillset speak for themselves. But now as a business owner, it’s requiring a bigger voice to fully showcase what I can provide.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Pace By Design?
Pace By Design is an online interior design studio offering virtual design services to clients throughout the U.S. We help take the guesswork out of decorating by creating easy-to-follow plans that guide clients through every step of the design process. From choosing your color palette to handpicking furniture in line with your preferences and crafting high-quality renderings so clients can see how everything comes together before making any purchases!
I think one of the biggest challenges a lot of people have is not really being able to visualize the actual potential in their space, so I aim to make that process a lot easier.
What do you think about luck?
I don’t know if I’d necessarily say luck has played a significant role in my life or business, but I would say faith has. I feel like I’ve always been right where I needed to be in every moment of my life. And even though I get a little impatient at times, I’ve always tried to trust God’s timing and I know what is meant for me will be and I’ve pretty much have let that guide me through life and how I do business.
