Exploring Life & Business with Dr. Ashley Wade of Read with Dr. Wade, ADH Pharmacy Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wade.

Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.
I am a practicing Pharmacist and I absolutely love what I do. In my personal journey I’ve developed into a knowledge enthusiast, conscious thinker, and motivational speaker with an immense passion for reading.  I enjoy connecting with people spiritually to positively change their lives.  About a year ago, I had this feeling that there had to be more for me.  The best part of my job at the time was talking to patients and building relationships with them.  The conversations I most enjoyed were the ones that involved non-medication therapy.  The most unforgettable conversation is when I had a military vet mention to me that he may have anxiety but was interested in therapy that did not involve prescription drugs.  I remember stepping away from my station and talking to him not as a pharmacist, but as Me, through my inner light.  Furthermore, I would get responses from patients ranging from, “How do you know all that to why aren’t you a doctor” and my response was always “I am a doctor.”  So I began to interpret the signs through spirit.  I was led to leave that job after 5 years in October 2020 and was welcomed to a new opportunity as a consultant pharmacist. This environment was completely different, where I felt at peace, respected, and valued. I took a leap on myself, and started ADH Pharmacy Consulting, LLC and invested in programs to help build my brand, however, at that time the message said “You’re on the right track but I want you to do something else right now.” So, in the meantime, ReadwithDrWade was created and I started making live videos on Facebook and Instagram connecting with people about various topics ranging from the books I was reading to what it means to be your authentic self.  And then the message was clear….write a process to help people connect with their authenticity.  I aspired to create a safe space where people can share and BE.  “It’s a Journey: A Journal for Discovering Self” was born from personal experiences, lessons, and spiritual awakening.  I have to thank Dr. Cedric Adams at Divine Life Christ Consciousness Center for helping me find Oneness and belief in Self and Allisiana Miche’ Davis, Founder and CEO of Leista Publishing and Company for assisting me in manifesting beyond my wildest dreams.  Today, I’ve sold over 100 journals, interviewed on The Fifty 2 Radio Show Hosted by Tria, linked with Community Growth Project, and The Dallas Millennial Market. My favorite place to connect with people is The Ubuntu Market at Pan African Connection.  There’s something supremely special about that place. Recently, I was invited as a guest speaker at the 84th Annual Texas NAACP Virtual State Convention October 8-9, 2021 highlighting Self Care and Knowing Your Limit.  I’m completely excited for opportunities like these to speak publicly and share wisdom with others.

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have a 2 fold answer to this question. No it has not been a smooth road.  I struggled a lot to believe that there was another opportunity out there for me to practice pharmacy besides the very stressful environment I was in.  I struggled to make decisions and figure out the next steps around if I would actually leave that situation and then discover the confidence to walk into another opportunity. Once I started writing, I doubted if this was something people would actually be interested in, considering the fact that I’m not a therapist.  Along this Journey of Self Discovery I’ve learned that this type of thinking is common, mainly self doubt. I have a very rewarding profession as a pharmacist and I’ve learned that each situation, positive and negative, is personalized and has enhanced the reach I have in my community. Once the manuscript was submitted, published, and I had the first copy of “It’s a Journey” in my hands, I proved that is it completely possible to believe in yourself and if you pay attention, you’ll be provided the tools you need along the way in order to see all your purpopsES come to fruition.  The road got smoother.  I learned that no life is without conflict, so it must but be the NAVIGATION that gives you a chance to magnify your perspective about any triumph and obstacle, especially about YOURSELF. Through my Journal, people can see that not only can you change your MIND you can also change your ACTIONS in ways that align with whatever your purpose is in this world.  The feedback from my readers has been incredible. I love knowing that my readers are working through the journal finding a safe space to write, heal, and elevate. What I realized is that people aren’t stagnant in life because they don’t desire to grow, they are stagnant because they have been stunted by hurt, trauma, and lack of genuine support.

Please tell us more about your business or organization. What should we know? What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for? What sets you apart from others? What are you most proud brand wise? What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc?
I have a beautiful platform on Instagram called Read with Dr Wade.  It’s where I engage, talk about my book, and share book selections.  What sets me apart from others, is that I go into the community and share my book at local pop ups around Dallas. At my favorite market,  Pan African Connection, I’ve formally introduced many people to my Holistic Journal for Discovering Self, walking through each of the 5 modules, demonstrating the positive impact each one has on Self.  I’ve literally had people stand next to me and literally shed tears from being moved by the experience.  I take great pride in demonstrating that my journal is equivalent to a hand to hold, a friend if you will,  along this life Journey. Through social media, I share pages from the books that I read that inspire people to look deeper into themselves on a holistic level and connect through the history that we were never taught.  A few of my favorites are “Set Boundaries, Find Peace, A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself” by Nedra Tawwab, “It Didn’t Start With You, How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle” by Mark Wolynn, and “The Handbook of Yoruba Religious Concepts” by Baba If a Karade.  These topics undergird the importance of the concept of Self Discovery and Self care for everyone. What I’m most proud of through “It’s a Journey: A Journal for Discovering Self” is this 5- module process created for those who desire to connect with themselves on a deeper level and are looking for a starting point.  It begins with teaching Freedom of Expression and concludes with Channeling the Power within, including guided questions at the end of each section and beautiful pages for journaling.  Each module invites the reader to challenge current thinking, then write and release.  One the other side you become more of who you truly are, so you can BE who you are supposed to BE and Max it OUT!  What I would like people to know is that No life is without conflict.  No life is perfect so that means every life is a JOURNEY and JOURNEY’s require a road map to help interpret the surroundings while encouraging you to move forward.  “Welcome to a space where YOU matter and YOU are #1.”  Currently, my services include One on One sessions, small group sessions, and bookings for motivational speaking through email and soon through my website.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources that help you do your best in life at work or otherwise?
There are lots of books that help me do my best at life and I will highlight those again because they are extremely powerful, “Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself” by Nedra Tawaab. This book just debuted in 2021 and the timing couldn’t have been better considering the increasing climate of therapy and self care.  This book does exactly what she said it would do, you will reclaim your life through setting boundaries. Nedra is a Genius.  Additionally,  The book “It Didn’t Start With You, How Inherited Family Trauma Shapes Who We Are and How to End the Cycle” by Mark Wolynn helped broaden my perspective on mental health disorders with an innovative awareness that guides you to the root of family issues that didn’t start with you yet relate to YOUR core.  The reader is left empowered to “ identify and break inherited family patterns.”   And “The Handbook of Yoruba Religious Concepts” by Baba Ifa Karade. I learned that the Yoruba culture believes that wisdom and intellect are developed through “oneness’ with spirit and knowledge of self. These books confirm the need and the value of Discovering Self for All people These are a few of the many impactful books on my list. Check my website for monthly book recommendations. Additionally, Dr. Cedric Adam’s weekly Facebook Live videos at Divine Life Christ Consciousness Center encourages me to think outside of the box in the realm of self awareness and spiritually freedom.  He integrates metaphysics with spirituality and relates those concepts to the power one has over changing their own life. I also pay attention to healing influencers on Instagram including Nedra Tawaab, Alex Elle, and CoryMuscara.
